Fantastic animation and loving the use of old logos! However there’s a few errors with opening dates in this video. Mutiny Bay opened in 2008, not 2009. Cloud Cuckoo Land however opened in 2009, not 2010 and Dark Forest opened in 2010, not 2011!

...and I used 12 of them for my dream to come true. I’m so passionate about coasters, and this... this is just IT. I treat the X-Sector as my home, the Smiler being my absolute passion of the park, and I treat myself as a member of the MOJ. I can’t believe how many years have gone by of my favourite park! And how many of the years I had to go to it for me to fall in love with it... I’m sure if I was 6 when I first went I’d fall in love immediately as you can remember things from a toddler. Anywho, Alton Towers is the best, the Smiler, my passion and life and everything is in ONE theme park! Thanks for all of the AMAZING memories, Alton Towers, I’ll be visiting at spring from Manchester!

Alright, the last time I’d visited Alton Towers was when I was around 12/14, my father took me and my brother, I remember the entire park just felt so nostalgic, so magical, so peaceful. I loved it. I’m now almost 20, and I recently went with some friends along with my brother again; and let me just say, I was beyond happy that the park still felt the same, the park was spotless, it was clean and was still kept up to date and maintained, after that amount of time, especially with the Smiler incident since I last went when I was a boy - I was expecting a mess, I expected the park to slowly be going down hill, but I was shocked and proved wrong; I had one HELL of a time with my friends, well done Alton Towers. I love you, I’ll be back. ❤️

Corkscrew was my first ever upside down ride and I'm so glad I remember it

I remember "Cockscrew". But when we went in 1999 (I was only 8 at the time), we were too young to ride it, and my parents hated roller coasters. And I can remember it being part of "Ug Land" or something like that, which *really* did and sounded ill-advised. The only ride I can remember us actually going on is the now-gone log flume (which is now "The Wicker Man"), the haunted house ride (I don't know if that is still there) as well as walking around the actual "towers" and its garden (which is still apparently lovingly well kept), along with watching screaming other visitors going on "Oblivion" (at the time, it had just opened) and wishing we weren't them.

Happy 40 th alton towers. I worked in the hotel as night porter. Had some great times in alton towers as customer and worker. Always remember packed out hotel. Some amazing people. From bar manger to the live Saturday night singers. Not just the rides people make the towers magic.

Great to hear that they are still using their "dum-de-dum-de-dum-de-dum" musical jingle. Which they have done since 1992 (the same year we moved into our house and before I properly started forming any real memories). When you hear the music, you know it's Alton Towers (like hearing the "Holidays are Coming" at Christmas means it's Coca-Cola). If only some people today can come up with such long-lasting, memorable jingles.
