Jacqueline Soto they are even in vocal performance 7/10, the noise is kinda the same since she kept the Bass 7/10 OG version and a 4/10 for this cover and finally the lyrics Charlie's version was an 9/10 and Andie's version was a 3/10. The reason for this is Charlie is telling us about a girl that doesn't truly love him "you don't want my heart" and just wants his attention "you just want attention", Charlie made a well constructed lyrical song. Unfortunately Andie is playing the girl that just wants Charlie's attention and doesn't truly like him "I just want attention". Yes Ik this is "girls perspective" and yes it's great to See her able to change up the lyrics to voice the other person, but again she's playing a real shitty person. The line Mrs. Miya is referencing is the biggest hint: "yeah ı just want attention, since you broke my heart". Her heart was broken. That doesn't necessarily mean it was his fault, but she sees whatever he did or didn't do as the result of the break-up and she's making him pay for it.

So I know a lot of people are saying she's still not the protagonist even throughout this song, and yeah, I agree. But she's also not a villain being evil just cause she's evil. She is hurt, and whether it's his fault or not, she's placed the blame on him and aims to hurt him back the way only she can. Kind of reminds me of the show Arrow season 5. The villain blames Arrow for his pain. While it is in fact Arrow's fault, he has changed and the retaliation the villain throws at him is an overreaction as he's been driven over the edge and left reason behind. So yeah, she's still the villain, but she's a more human villain. She gives us information he never did. Like the fact that while she doesn't want to see him with someone new, the reverse is true as well. Also, the fact that he at one point broke her heart and that he has a minor obsession with her as well ("lookin' for an excuse to call me up..."). So no, she's not just a golddigger looking to get his attention because she's needy and petty. She's purposefully tormenting him to pay him back; whether or not he deserves it is up to you.
