It’s an old folk song! I believe the first recording of it was Susan Reed in 1954. It’s from her Album Old Airs from Ireland, Scotland and England. Not sure which country it originated from. But my mom sang it to me, grandpa sang it to her, his mom sang it to him, and so on and so on for who knows how long.
