Remember it well. Absolute legends all over the pitch...Big Gerry body swerve at the beginning of his run for our second goal..everyone played with a smile on their faces. Happy days indeed

I know it turned out well, though I can’t help but feel anxious watching the footage. Was there on the night. We hammered the second tier that season. The best team in the division by far. Toddy made a mistake letting McGinlay go at the start of the following season. If they’d spent some money fixing his knee, he could’ve made a timely return to the team during the second half of the season (what with Deano having made a slow start to his Wanderers career and Peter Beardsley having largely underwhelmed). If he’d helped keep us up, he might’ve scraped into the Scotland squad for France ‘98.

Proper BWFC legend, but there again that squad was full of characters who would put themselves on the line for one another. Compare the attacking stuff here to the negative dross that’s served up today...makes you want to weep !
