I went to your channel Kurt, no relavent content to study. This song has gotten me through many times even when I was like 8 and didnt even know what suicide was. I understand that everyone has their own perspective but if you have seen Claudio live you would know he is a humble gentle man and this is a representation of his imagination mixed with humanism from his own experience. Your comment comes off as cold and ignorant. Suicide and or as in the comics asking others to take your own life is quite a big subject. We have assisted suicide here in America. Life is a journey between you and the particles you are composed of. If he expresses his sadness this way he is not a tool he is another human

I take an additional meaning on top of that. With lyrics like "write it in a letter that says reborn" something needs to change but there is a choice to be made. When over coming your obstacles, do you destroy yourself or the things in your way?

How this song relates to the lore of Armory Wars: The first three paragraphs of this song detail Mayo's interrogation of Sizer. He is an IRO-bot, a robot, so instead of just killing him, Mayo literally chops his limbs off with a chain saw - "sever the limbs from his torso." The next part starting with "slowly discarded" detail how Mayo tosses Sizer's remains in an alleyway. Claudio, Coheed and Cambria's son, who has been a recluse the past decade, stumbles upon his remains while arguing with Ambellina. He recognizes it as an IRO-bot, something Claudio is as well. He "fixes and restores" him. The last part, "pull the trigger and the nightmare stops," harkens back to the interrogation. It is something Sizer was yelling at Mayo, begging him to kill him so that the interrogation can end.

blurnsball3001 how? But it is a pop punk song. I didn't say they were a pop punk band. Might I add they do pop punk better than most pop punk bands. The fact that they can play prog, metal, pop punk, and various other genres shows how versatile and talented C&C is.

Liked it but didn't really grasp onto it until 2008 or so, the Pandora app on my old Blackberry Pearl setting me up with so many excellent groups I'm still into. When I looked into the deeper lore it really made me appreciate how not only was Claudio writing some great music but also trying to tell a story, not all of it hits perfectly as intended but it still shakes me to the core in all the best ways possible.

Raises the question about art imitating life vs. life imitating art. "Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops." On the surface, it could be about suicide, yet the main character in the Amory Wars story is a kind of cyborg with a gun for one of his arms. He is prophesied to use that gun against the corrupt rulers of his world. Still, he's got major baggage from the fact that his father (Coheed) murdered his two siblings (Maria and Matthew) at the beginning of the story. So at whom does he pull the trigger? Himself or his foes? Could just be me reading too much into it but I think this is a metaphor for real life. When things are so bad that there appears to be no way out, where do you direct the aggression? Do you destroy yourself or do you make a stand against the things in the world around you (and within you for that matter) that have created the dark circumstances? Considering how the story actually ends, I think this song is actually very uplifting and hopeful: "We'll fix him, restore him." "Write them in a letter that says reborn."

+Ronn Fontana Apparently this particular song was about (and please forgive me that I forget a lot of the characters names this is about, it's been a while since I read up on all chronicle behind the music) the cyborg friend of Claudio being tortured, dissembled with a chain saw limb by limb, discarded in an ally, found by Claudio, Claudio and Ambellina fighting over rebuilding him, Claudio rebuilding him, and then him being haunted by his torture experience. "Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops" is apparently a reference to him begging for death well being tortured which is what haunts him most after having been rebuilt. So he's hearing himself yell that at his torturer over and over again and he relives the memory. This is how this song is generally theorized to be part of the story behind the Coheed and Cambria cannon at least.

Claudio is on to something here...when he says pull the trigger and the nightmare stops, forever you will run. ...I have tried to kill myself so many times and my father actually did but I was in a mental hospital after an attempt once and there was a video shown to us where people experienced the after life and one lady tried to take a bunch of pills to kill herself and she saw someone on the other side that told her that if she kept trying to kill herself ( and succeed ) then she would have to start over and over and over never achieving the peace of death and the after life . So this song is really giving the best advice ever, don't pull the trigger basically. And I, of all people, would love for that to be the answer in ending our living nightmares but for me I found the right meds, finally, after 25 years but anyways, don't give up and stay strong, my friends...just thought I could help someone with that story...♡♡♡
