@@cun7us same era, pretty much the same techniques. but for me DLR always has the notch with drums. its just that absolute clarity paired with a punch that knocks out anyone. you could put anything under them qnd i‘d be more than happy. break has the percussion and sound design. both are legends.

@@Pablosko611 true. DLR gives his drums that TLC that no one else really does. He uses real drum kits which a lot of producers do, but seems to get them sounding punchier and crisper without being overly processed. City Slickers is one of my favourites by him and Break.

I never liked the original as I could never understand why they made a tune that sounded, instead of like an original tune, but as an unofficial remix to Ed Rush & Optical's Compound track (which I for years from buying the misprinted labeled first LP pressing of Wormhole back in '98) was Fixation. In mean seriously. Uses the exact same stabs. With all of that being said this is a killer, well thought out, and executed remix of a remix of an unofficial remix. 😂🤣

I prefer the original. It has more rolling flow and a more fun piss drinking vibe. This one is nerdy. Loud punchy drums aren’t always better. Producers these days are so eager to mix all the soul and character out of the drums.
