Hi! Amazon worker here! So the stuff that is packed in way too huge of boxes usually is because the system suggests something and then we are allowed to only upsize boxes, never downsize them. Which means that sometimes we are instructed to box things in something hilariously over-sized for the actual item. It's silly but if we downsize it gets kicked out and you just don't get your items because the weight and such is wrong, lol.

@ I don't work that area so I don't really know, however a lot of stuff is returned for relatively frivolous reasons so there might be some value in them, especially since they're probably sold at significantly lower than their actual value due to being returns. Bear in mind that a lot of this is going to be stuff Amazon decided was either too high-risk or too troublesome to bother restocking -- even at a discount, so your mileage may vary. As you've seen in these videos, some of this stuff can be pretty worth it if it's in good condition and all there, though! If they listed the prices it might be easier to tell if it's actually worthwhile... but there's probably a lot of competition for the /really/ juicy pallets, too. I wouldn't be surprised if they generally lose money on these pallets if it wasn't for youtube adrev though just due to difficulty of actually selling the items.
