Eric, Love these lessons! Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but would you consider angling your camera so it captures the guitar. :)
@paulgambon35104 жыл бұрын
I love the way the notes bloom when you pick upwards. For me I see two things to make this happen. First the pick rotation comes from the forearm and wrist. Second, the arc of the picking motion needs to be very small. If you exaggerate the upstroke the downstroke crashes the pick into the strings. A small, almost minute arc , lets the pick move away from the strings on both the up and downstroke. This ain’t easy!

@kipponi4 жыл бұрын
Nice advice again. I think pick is like equalizer. You can change sound softer or harder. Guitar is best instrument for tone manipulation. Picking above bridge pickup or neck huge difference. Is he describing curve picking? Picking up both down and upstrokes?

beautiful phrases, do you always use phrasing based on triads and pentas on two notes per string with inverted typing? type harmonic field of E: using the penta in the relative tone C # m: C # - E - G # - B - E - F # - B - C #? thanks for showing us these rich and melodic sound paths for us.

The only mistake here, in this great (and generous) lesson by a master, is that we can’t really see your picking hand! Oh well, still a great post. Thanks!
@ceriwilliams13154 жыл бұрын
Hi Eric. I was wondering...you probably have an idea already around your next lesson. Sometime...it would be hugely valuable to cover something around how you can orientate your pick and right hand to really know where it is in space. I suffer from all sorts of stuff like hitting the wrong string, missing the note, moving the pick around too much. Basically - how you orientate your pick hand/finger/pick to do so much with small movements. Thanks. C
@colinli79064 жыл бұрын
Thx Eric! But I have a hard time doing this kind of picking probably because of the big movement compared to just "pick". May you put it more specical please?
