I think Focus was enjoying a little Cocus during this rendition of Hocus Pocus

I swear Akkerman was so in the zone during that Midnight Special performance those solos were like lightning in a bottle. Of course he's always shredding but that one performance was just perfect on so many levels.

Thank you, thank you for this video! They were very good looking young men and incredible musicians. I’m from the U.S. but my heritage is Norwegian!

good musicians having fun with a zany piece of music which was a big hit in the day. the falsetto/scat/yodeling voice and whistling with facial expressions by Thijs Van Leer was hilarious, entertaining and well done

I am enchanted by Pierre van der Linden. He seems to flow like a waterfall across the drum kit. Wonderful drummer.

His brother Rick van der Linden was also a talented musician, a leader of Eskeption. One of my favorite bands.

@@CosmicHighwayPatrol That's because anyone could pick up a pair of drum sticks and learn to do what he's doing in this song in about 3 weeks of practicing. His fundamentals are good but not very creative or challenging stuff at all, unfortunately.

The Netherlands: "we beat the Spanish, French, English, Belgium and helped our allies beat the Germans. Our art is second to none, and our culture is considered a delight everywhere". Also, the Netherlands: WooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHA!". Mental.

O rock dos anos 70 era outro nível. A guitarra soava muito melhor que nos anos 2000.

It's a shame that with all these years the band put in, to entertain the public, that the last establishment didn't have consideration to provide adequate weather protection at the end of this video...

in the first clip, what is that device on the organ bench beside Van Leer that has the big adjustment knob on top of it? I've never seen that clip..
@fmtfniuprog8029 Жыл бұрын
I also saw the big button... could it be a controller for Leslie's speed?
@bluarcher5941 Жыл бұрын
@@fmtfniuprog8029 as good a guess as any, though I've never seen a variable speed controller for a Leslie...usually it's just a 2-speed switch on the side of the organ by the low register, so I don't know. It's a strange looking device.
@George.Andrews. Жыл бұрын
Looks like a variac. Big variable resistor. I can only imagine it controlled the speed of the pulse

The loony child of Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson and something Deep Purple left behind at an early pub gig that they didn't want because it was a bit weird even for them. This is why the Soviets lost the Cold War-it wasn't blue jeans, the Rolling Stones, democracy, or anything like that-it was because the KGB could never keep this down, even with a million men wearing ridiculous and outdated hats.
@donaldgregg9250 Жыл бұрын
Ironically, your band collage is not too far off, that describes their sound in a great way...
