Nope. I saw him on his first appearance on Regis and Kathie Lee (2006 according to Wikipedia) and he was freaking amazing. I grew up with my parents listening to this type of music on the console stereo, and immediately knew he was going to be famous. Just an amazing voice at such an early age - rich, in control, beautiful vibrato. And Regis just fawned over him, obviously recognized the talent. I think it really kicked off his career here in the states.

@@melaniefogarty858 "silky, sultry, and warm" I think is the primary reason I thought he was older, he is practically the only one with such a silky, sultry, and warm voice and uses it as such in his music. *edit at his age group, Seth Macfarlane does but he is older and of the age that it is more expected.

And I love that his guests, I think for the most part, are so relaxed and not necessarily "on their best behavior" because there's a certain freedom on his show, and that particular British network. It's great to hear celebrities do impressions of other celebrities, especially ones they truly admire and respect! And when Bublé did his impression of McConaughey, he did it so well. I loved it. When I was in my early 20s, I worked at MCI as an operator. At that time, there was something called "person to person paid" calls which celebrities used pretty often, meaning they were being connected directly to whomever whey were calling. It was a regular occurrence, so I processed many calls for many celebrities. Robin Williams has always been my idol. If I had been asked if there was one person (at the time) who was the driving force behind my personality, I would have said Robin Williams. So, one day, I was working on what was called a "mid-shift" (which meant I worked from 11pm to mid-morning) I got a person-to-person paid call from a David Steinberg to a Robin Williams. Considering the number of calls I processed every shift, I didn't even think about the names here......I just placed the call. Once Robin answered, and I recognized his very distinct voice, I completely lost it. I was supposed to say, "Hello, this is Tim, an MCI operator with a person to person paid call from David Steinberg to Robin Williams. Is Robin Williams available?". Instead, I said, "Robin........Williams?.........Ohmygoshyou'remyfavoritepersonintheworldI'msorryI'mnotsupposedtodothisbutIloveyousomuchandIthinkyou'reamazing, I have a person to person paid call to you from David Steinberg, would you like to accept the call?" He laughed, said, "thank you so much, I really appreciate it. Yes, I'll take the call", I connected them, and it was over. That was 25 or so years ago and it's still one of my fondest memories.
