Lin Manuel is a genius. He will be remembered for centuries. We're too close to him to see it, but there will be people in hundreds of years saying "imagine watching him live, in the real, right there in front of you".

If you've ever been in the same room as Lin-Manuel Miranda and he starts singing 'My Shot', it's something you will never, ever forget. I was in The Room 3 months ago today- and I still get teary thinking about it!

Just saw In The Heights and realized he's just a genius!
@jackcoogan3103 жыл бұрын
I love that people are trying to cancel him for not being “inclusive” enough in The Heights. You know, the story of his growing up in a neighborhood of immigrants and minorities? Was this the same guy who recast George Washington and Thomas Jefferson as black men? Ya. Doesn’t sound like an inclusive fella. The Heights is dope, LMM is dope, and people who think he made a mistake are morons and aren’t mature enough to watch LMM’s work.
@lustforlimerence3 жыл бұрын
to my knowledge, the criticism is because of the lack of darker skinned afrolatino actors for ITH despite washington heights having a pretty significant afrolatino population. i believe leslie grace as nina is the only afrolatino actress in a prominent role in that movie. do i think LMM should be cancelled? well it’s not my place to tell another community how to address an issue that affects their representation in the media because i’m an asian from california with no connection to washington heights. but it’s still a valid critique and shouldn’t be brushed off as immaturity or an inability to grasp art.

@@lustforlimerence How is it valid? Who has the right to tell a director who he should hire for his own movie?
@lustforlimerence3 жыл бұрын
@@CrystalNinja07 well, who has the right to tell a whole community that feels misrepresented that their disappointment and frustration aren’t valid? art belongs to the creator until it’s released into the world - at that point it belongs to the audience, and this is how a significant, vocal portion of the audience feels.
