I love how Peter Capaldi wants to share his success with others - passing around the Oscar, just having fun with it. He was like that during his tenure on Doctor Who as well, wanting his character to have some cheaper costumes so it would be easier for fans to afford to cosplay the character since it's normal costuming was typically very expensive. It seems both he and Hanks have managed to stay real and grounded in an industry that makes that nearly impossible.
@pixlbit-designs-vfx5 жыл бұрын
At a certain point, Peter Capaldi realized that there was too much ragging on David Walliams for not having an Oscar, and even though Capaldi probably knew Hanks was (and is) a nice guy, he may have thought that Hanks' continued needling was too much, so he shifted to a self-deprecating story about himself, and shifted it again to pointing out Walliams' achievement for charity. In just a few words, Capaldi deftly managed to change the conversation, show his humility, and put the spotlight on someone else. To me that shows how much of a class act Capaldi is.

Bloody hell seeing how old Tom Hanks looks genuinely makes me feel sad. I grew up with his films, Castaway was only 15 years ago and he has aged massively! :(

+Willz Thats when I realised just how great an actor Tom Hanks was.. He single-handedly carried a 2 and a half hour movie virtually by himself, and it didn't drag as it would with almost any other actor.

Tom is awesome, no doubt about it... but I Love that Peter made a point of mentioning David's English Channel swim for charity.
@tommo2585 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, brilliant move from Peter there - acknowledging how although David may not be a star in their sense, he is a star nonetheless; he is brilliant in all his sketch work and children's books

tenderheart17 Yeah the way he, on a dime, turned around the [playful] piling on for fun to putting him on pedestal and having everyone stop joking and celebrate him was amazing. Simply Brotacular. 😎

The fact that Peter mentions that David swam the channel for charity after they both won the top honor in their profession that everyone praises and Tom and Peter have such admiration for him, shows how grounded they are that they know what is truly important in life.

When the scene with Wilson comes up in the movie, I leave, because I know I'm going to cry, my bf says its just a ball, stop being stupid, but to me it reminds me of loss , death,and that heartache.#TomHanks amazing actor, love him and his Wife , Rita is just as amazing, great couple!

Awwww him doing Forest's voice brought a tear to my eye. Very emotional once you really get everything that's going on.
