For me, a great interviewer asks the questions and then shuts up so the guest can respond. A lot of current late night hosts interrupt with lame jokes or laughter and simply ruin the flow of the conversation. Norton understands the assignment, that's why he's one of the few I can actually watch.

What's even better with Graham Norton is that he is genuinely funny without needing writers. So when he does chip in, it's not only hilarious, it's a genuine response to the flow of the conversation and not forced.

I love Isabella Rossellini. She’s so humble. One night, I was waiting for a subway train in NYC going uptown. I was in a bad mood because I couldn’t get a taxi & had to take the subway. Yeah, the smart people in cities take the train. Also, it makes sense if you don’t hate the environment I’m in a bad mood when psychopaths in cars run red lights and try to kill me. Or when it smells like an airport on the weekend because of all the rich people in SUVs stinking it up. Hope that puts things in perspective for you.
