@davidmccall4776 Greg & Duane were super talented brothers. I got into their music right from the start & often go back to their earlier albums, which still give me so much joy. Greg's 'anthology albums' went on to prove how respected he was as a session musician. The Boz Scaggs tune Loan me a Dime, has one of the finest guitar on it. And the Live at Fillmore East was rated as one of the finest live albums of the era. Isn't music such a joy, even the Bluest Blues & the Spirit of Soul.

A long time ago I was a telemarketer and one of the folks I contacted was a Mrs Allman and she was somewhere in the South. I said “oh like Greg Allman?” She said that’s that’s my nephew! I swear the souls of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, ZZ Hill and BB King came back in some of the whites dudes. Excellent job!

Simply one the greatest blue-eyed soul singers EVER. I mean, it's Paul Rodgers, Robert Plant and Gregg Allman. Gregg's voice sounds like he drank honey mixed with gasoline and gravel. Just one of a kind. He could move me with one little twist of a note. So heartfelt. Genuine. Nothing phoney here. Not to mention he penned some of the 'Brothers' best tunes. Amazing talent we all miss very much.

You may be right sir, though Gregg had many, many incredible vocal performances. This album (Just Before The Bullets Fly, 1988) was a wonderful improvement over its' predecessor (I'm No Angel, 1987). Songs like this old Clarence Carter masterpiece are one reason why. Also, there are far fewer '80's synthesizer effects on this album. Sadly this album did not sell well compared to I'm No Angel. The next year the Allman Brothers 'Dreams' compilation was released, and the Brothers reformed, staying together through 2014.

This sure LOOKS like a place on Printer's Alley where we all used to hang... even though I'm from Muscle Shoals and in music, working in Nashville a lot, there's just certain ones that you just have a special connection. It was never lost on me... he was a southern gentle- man, (his soul was gentle) but, he will ALWAYS be a wild eye southern boy, to me...I still have the silver top hat that he took from me here, ( IF this is Skull's Rainbow Room), so I would follow him next door to get it back... THIS is a true MUSCLE SHOALS SOUND song... and WHAT a delivery...(🎶"I need you darlin',, I need you right now"🎶)... who wouldn't, slip way😘💞
