My Traditional Jacket Purple Box arrived yesterday. Everything about it is exceptional quality. As Reza said, it's worth ordering the box just to see and feel what high-quality tailoring materials and trimmings look and feel like.

thank you for sharing your knowledge. Is a bespoke ladies jacket made the same way and with the same materials?
@OFFICIALISOT
@OFFICIALISOT Жыл бұрын
Hello Liedia! A ladies Jacket is constructed as our Pagoda Model. Although most of the techniques are similar to our Traditional Model, the Pagoda Model contains a few extra steps and layers, making it slightly more complex. Other than that, they are quite similar in their foundation. As for the materials, yes. A ladies jacket can be and is often made with the same trimmings that we offer in our Purple Box. These are professional grade materials, used by many tailoring workshops around the world. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please don't hold back. Reza.

When you say "you can double your body canvas if you don't have horsehair", do you mean you can add one more layer of body canvas, or you cut two layers of bodycanvas for each piece of horsehair? Thanks a lot

This is so nice ! But what about after finishing the jacket. It is indeed hard to find all the materials (I live in the Netherlands) Hope you have some suggestions?

Hello Linda! Our current Purple Box bundles are meant to help our students to make a start and not have any barriers that prevent them from following our lessons. There will be a third bundle available that allows you to buy the trimmings separately. I will have more updates regarding this in the near future. We will soon also have a list of suppliers on the resources page of our website. Until then, Veel geluk! :) Reza

@@OFFICIALISOT I may be asking too much, but it would be nice if you could provide both UK/European AND American suppliers. To help you and us out maybe we Canadian and American subscribers could start with compiling known American suppliers in the Questions area of the Community section. There won't be as many suppliers offering as many items as in the UK/Europe but it may help.

Hi Reza. You are ideally placed to tell us what the Dutch names of all these materials are. I already found - after a long search - that the Domette can be found as Watteline. You can see how that kind of translation gap can complicate finding good material sources.

Hello Dirk! I may have to disappoint you here. I learned tailoring in the UK and therefore never came in contact with Dutch names. However, to make it up, I'm working on a set of "dictionaries" with people from our community page to translate common names of materials and techniques to multiple languages. Let me know if you'd like to be part of the "Dutch" dictionary and in the meanwhile I will keep you posted on whatever I manage to collect for this purpose. Reza

@@OFFICIALISOT I would definitely like to be part of that. I also come in contact with a lot of French terminology, so perhaps I can contribute there as well
