Being 5 foot 5 playing high school ball 2010-2012 there’s nobody that I looked up to more . This was my guy , this is who I wanted to be . He gave all us little guys so much hope .

Sucks he was injured a lot last few seasons w eagles he should have better all time stats cause he was so consistently clutch and versatile. Wish they used him more like how they did in New Orleans that first year n eagles first year. Mf was averaging like 7 yards a carry as a 3rd down back 😭😭🐐

If he's not shame on the NFL there is no way someone #6 all time all purpose yards in the NFL shouldn't be in the hof.

It sickened me when the Chargers didn't re-sign him. Great, vastly underrated player and one of the all-time yardage leaders, to boot!

Went on to have his best season with Brees and the Saints. He'll always be a Chargers legend tho!

Sproles had quite a few game winners, and definitely helped River's career

Announcers would say "He Is Their Darren Sproles". To me that was a Hall Of Fame Compliment in that Darren was so unique and original NFL teams did their best to find someone like him, but they never did. He needs to be in Canton.

Love this. Also, we gotta give Reggie bush some credit for this as well as when DS was brought to NO they said he was there to fill the role and be their Reggie bush!

I would say that Maurice Jones Drew was very close. Actually I was way off lol. Maurice Jones Drew was an even bigger beast lol. Similar stature, but different build.

The turnover of his stride is faster than any running back I've ever seen. Also, the best footwork I've seen in a running back. Awesome career!!!

From a British perspective Darren Sproles makes me think of the now retired Welsh rugby union player Shane Williams. He was an inch taller than Sproles but with his pace and 'slipperiness' he holds the Welsh record for international tries (touch downs) in a game generally dominated by BIG men--58 tries in 89 games for Wales--which of course doesn't take into account the tries he 'set up' for other scorers.

It's the best when the little guy is successful in big guy sports. Darren Sproles, Isaiah Thomas, and Trindon Holliday make me feel like I can do anything lol *Not a huge Rugby fanatic, but I appreciate the sport. Just watched Shane Williams highlights. I will add him to my undersized athlete list lol
