Amy Lee has a voice you will never forget and same goes for this interesting video. Evanescence had help on the song and video by Paul McCoy from the group 12 Stones. They were on the same record label as Evanescence and by using a male singer on their debut single gave the group an easier time getting airplay.

According to Evanescence singer Amy Lee, when her band was getting a record contract, they wanted something like Linkin Park... she said 'no' and walked out. The label (Wind-Up Records) came back and asked them to do 1 single w/ dual vocals as a compromise... she agreed to that, and 'Bring me to life' was written. They asked vocalist Paul McCoy of the band 12 Stones (who were on their record label) to do the male vocals, and it became a huge single from the 'Daredevil' movie soundtrack back in 2003. The downside was that Paul McCoy had to explain to people that his band was 12 Stones... & not Evanescence 😂 Arkansas native Amy Lee (vocals & keys) formed the band Evanescence as a teen when she hooked up w/ then-bf Ben Moody (guitar) in the 90's... The band recorded the 'Origin' album in 2000... They were signed in 2002 and basically re-recorded most of the 'Origin' record for the album 'Fallen' in 2003, and that record went ballistic after they appeared on the 'Daredevil' movie soundtrack... 'Fallen' sold over 7 million copies in the US and was an international #1 hit. Unfortunately, Amy Lee and ex-bf Ben Moody (who had a difficult relationship, despite trying to remain collaborators in the band) endured problems in Evanescence's sudden fame... Ben Moody quit the band in 2003 and cut ties w/ Lee. Lee Evanescence kept touring into 2004 w/ guitarist Terry Balsamo replacing Moody. Amy Lee and Balsamo wrote the next album 'The open door' in 2006... it sold over 2 million copies in the US, but did not match the success of 'Fallen'. Amy Lee took some time off, got married... Evanescence returned in 2011 w/ new members Troy McLawhorn (guitar), Will Hunt (drums) & Tim McCord (bass) joining Lee and Terry Balsamo (guitar) & released the self-titled album, which hit #1 on the US charts but sold a half million copies and went gold. Evanescence left their label Wind-up after that release... Terry Balsamo left Evanescence. Amy Lee became a mom to a son in 2014. In 2017, guitarist Jen Majura joined Evanescence and the 'Synthesis' album was released w/ composer David Campbell reworking past Evanescence songs for the record. Evanescence released their latest album in 2021 - 'The Bitter truth' which hit the US charts at #11 and the UK charts at #4. Evanescence songs to check out - 'My immortal' ... 'Lithium' ... 'What you want' ... 'Going under' ... "Call me when you're sober"... 'My heart is broken' ... 'The game is over' ... 'Wasted on you'...🔥🔥🤘🤘 Seether - "Broken" (feat. Amy Lee) Amy Lee - 'Going to California' (Led Zeppelin cover)

*You two should try more from Evanescence. Having the guy singing in this song, was due to the record company forcing the band to bring in a guy to do it. Amy protested, but the record company was not going to record and promote them unless they complied. So Amy and the band gave in and they hired this guy who previously sung in a Cristian Rock group/band. Amy did a collaboration with the group "Seether"....try the song "Broken" by Seether w/Amy Lee.*

I've never heard that story in my life. If true, then it was the right decision to make the guy sing, gave the song alot more power.

That's completely wrong. Amy Lee and Ben Moody founded the band together. Go read the wiki dude. It says right on there.
@Roh_Echt3 жыл бұрын
@@JaxTheReaper21 It is not wrong. Paul McCoy from 12 Stones was brought in to sing on this track. Amy did not want it.
@michellepetrillo22353 жыл бұрын
@@Roh_Echt You are absolutely correct. At the time, both Evanescence and 12 Stones were with Wind Up records, and it was the company that wanted Paul McCoy to sing the male portion, to expand his visibility. And I’ve seen 12 Stones three times in concert, that is absolutely him in the video- Ben is in the background on guitar. I met Amy Lee (and most of the band) in Charlotte, NC, during the Fallen tour. I was standing right in front of Amy when someone beside me mentioned how much they loved those vocals, and already knowing then that she hated it and didn’t want him to sing- I cringed and Amy Lee rolled her eyes so dramatically when that was mentioned… I’ll never forget it. 😂😂😂 I got most of the bands autographs, all except Ben Moody, who was pitching a crybaby fit and wouldn’t get off the tour bus. He left the band about 3-4 weeks later.
