The song expressing the loss of a family member or a friend and how it almost drove her to the edge of insanity. Many believed its a song dedicated to the loss of her sister

Good catch. Ben Moody is the guy on the piano. Not long after this he left the band. Hence the hard split between Amy and him in the video.

You are very wise young man. I appreciate that you tapped into the fact that people who lost someone would listen to this song. I layed my husband down on our kitchen floor on his birthday and knelt next to him and said, I love you. He couldn't speak so all he could do was mouth, I love... And, he died with my hands on his chest. I can't listen to this song without sobbing. But, sometimes you need some help to cry. I get lost in my own pain sometimes. Thank you for sharing your reaction with us. Sincerely, Carly💙

You are the only one that I have noticed that sees she doesn’t touch the ground. The video is about the guy in it, she is his immortal, his Angel, that’s why she never touches the ground. Think of it as every man and woman has an Angel with them, a female for the man and a male for the woman. She is his and is overwhelmed by his pain and is singing what he is feeling. My immortal, or my Angel..
@newgrl3 жыл бұрын
You're right about Amy never touching the ground. In the video, think of the lyrics from _his_ (Ben Moody's) point of view and see Amy Lee as a spirit. Amy has stated in interviews that she wrote the song about her little sister, who died when they were both young.

Wow. I never noticed about the fact she doesn't touch the ground. I did figure out that she's the one no longer with us - notice her wrists are bandaged. But she is singing from the perspective of the person she left behind. To me, that's what is so deep about this song. And it's beautiful! Thanks for your reaction.
@Suzy32232 жыл бұрын
I’ve listened to many reactions to this song.. because it’s so deep.. I never thought about the fact that she never touches the ground. I get that feeling.. of an almost surreal out of body thing. Pain can do that to you. The power of the video gets lost a bit - I get it. It’s because of her voice, the lyrics and imo how beautiful she is.. her eyes, especially. But, the video is incredibly well done too. Amy Lee dated the singer in a band called Seether years ago. The do a song together called, Broken and I’d love to hear your reaction. Great introspective reaction.

I've been a fan since this band came out. And I never caught that she never was on the ground 👍🏽 also you're right about this song, that it could help people who are sad, I feel it would act as a good outlet to let out those feelings. Finding words to fit what hurt you go through.

Evanescence is my all time favorite band and i have loved them since i first heard them in 2002. many of amy's songs are delving into loss because she lost her little sister when she was just a toddler and her brother passed away in 2018. they are one of the most underrate rock bands. most stations used to play one song by them which is "bring me to life" and amy hates the rap part of it, the record company made them include it to be more relevant. But they have so many good songs that get overlooked because some stations do not consider them rock. im happy you are delving into different genres. eclectic taste in music helps creativity and you never know what youre missing if you just listen to one style of music.

Her voice is haunting. This song is so relatable to many for many different reasons. Loss of a loved one by death or just the death of a relationship. When she sings, "But though you're still with me, I've been alone all the long" implies a relationship where one person is still holding on while the other is half way out the door.

You would be correct, Amy doesn't touch the ground in the entire video, she is supposed to represent a spirit of some kind. The video was shot in Barcelona ,the guy in the video is Ben Moody the guitarist, he also wrote the song and was in a relationship with Amy, they are the founding members of the band. Here's were it gets ironic, Moody and Amy were having problems and all of a sudden he splits with Amy and leaves the band two weeks after they shot this video. No one knew he would be leaving, not even Moody. So it's ironic that the video is depicting that they have lost each other. Did this make sense.
