I recommend the clover amour hook set! I think that the grip is really important for comfortably crocheting. The plain crochet hooks with no grips always end up hurting my hands.

Agreed! I haven’t used Clover Amour personally but I’ve heard great things and it’s on my list for sure. Right now I just have a set from Amazon but ergonomic hooks are a must if you’re gonna work comfortably.

I’m here to give my two cents on crochet hooks. There’s definitely a divide in the crochet community between Boye and Susan Bates lovers. I am an avid Susan Bates fan!! They have a deeper hook groove so the yarn isn’t slipping out while working your stitches and it also has a pointier head which makes it easier to get into the stitches. I recently bought the full Susan Bates Twist + Lock set and I’m OBSESSED! The ergonomic grip is stellar and it’s an amazing way to have multiple hooks with you at one time since it’s a double ended handle. I hope this helps! Happy crocheting 😊 🧶

ohh i really like the idea of multiple hooks at the same time! also the sharper edges definitely appeal to me. with knitting i usually prefer a metal needle for that exact reason!'

It’s so sweet how she gave you all this and an ufo, you could probably even sew them up like the diamond pattern! My fave crochet hooks are aluminum Susan Bates hooks ❤

I thought your green hat was bright and then you pulled out the orange pink! Whoa baby. 😍 It’s so sweet that she was able to pass the craft and tools on to you. I can’t wait to see what you make. When I started my crochet journey I followed a lot of KZbin tutorials. One of my fave is Its Erin B. I was able to make my first fiber garments ever following her. But she also have some home decor items like pillows and pot holders/hangers that I love. Two of Wands has great crochet home items as well. And True Lane has a waffle stitch pillow she made that I am dying to remake.

@@feelinfroggyknits it’s pronounced like nigh-lah but I answer to all forms 😅 (actually spelling has an accented a, Náyla) Happy to help! Crochet is honestly so fun. I think you’re gonna love it.

clover amour hooks as well as the prym hooks are what i crochet with. make sure to get something ergonomic if your really going to be crocheting a lot. i started with the susan bates aluminum hooks but quickly realized they made my hands cramp up. ive also heard furls hooks are really good but ive never used them, they look cute tho

I found Furls a couple of years ago and I absolutely love them. I hold my hook with a knife grip but they also work with a pencil grip. Best hook I ever spent money. My wrist would crack every time I moved it crocheting and with the furls hook it doesn’t. If you get a chance look them up, they explain why they designed the hooks they way they did. They are expensive, but you can catch them every now and then having a sale. I just think for me the benefits of using the hook outweighed the expense 😂 and they are really neat looking. Not one hook is the same.

I prefer metal hooks with a silicone handle because I knife hold and it makes me not grip the hook as tightly.

i love that im learning there are different ways to hold the hooks too! i'm definitely leaning towards the ergonomic handle with the metal hook. thank you!!!

Don’t use acrylic yarn for pot holders and washcloths it will melt use a cotton or bamboo yarn for those.
