12:35 I used to have a '98 Impreza (stock) and I could only describe its launch as jumping off the line. This is best example I have seen of this. It doesn't matter how many revs you give it, just dump the clutch and you arrive at your destination.

I use to always slip the clutch when launching and never had a problem. Then the one time i thought fk it ill try dumping it BOOM! the gearbox grenaded 😂

@@nsmaori 😂 I had a non-turbo hawk before that. Bottom end went. £2k rebuild and on first big pull after 500 easy miles it went again. Got ghosted by the builder so put a £300 2nd hand lump in. Drove away from getting it fitted and lost 3rd gear immediately 😭 Scooby life

Yo everyone again, Just for everyones info, this was the first race of the day before I raced the 812, and the faults occurred when racing the gtr. At the time wasn’t aware of the faults but still tried to send it anyways for the culture. Also wasn’t short shifting it’s how the turbos set up and spools so quick to redline. Car is all fixed now and running solid! ✌🏽✌🏽Thanks again Jamie, be back again in a different toy 👀🔥

Subarus are for dig races, they suffer bad up top hence the results here. Especially the older ones with even shorter gears. Sorry but subies are dig monsters only they extract all power down low, and sacrifice their topend power. No subie aint beating no rb skyline or supra on top end sorry. Driver making excuses about his 5th and 6th, subies just aint got no legs up top.

In Australia, there are 2 main paths for car enthusiasts it seems - JDM or AUSDM (Ford Falcon XR6 and Holden Commodore). Even though the XR6 has the Barra (aka Australian 2JZ), something about trying to keep a Subaru running is so mesmerising… Edit: learnt very early on that everything would mop my little Impreza up in a straight, but in twists and turns and on gravel trails is where it shines

Did you watch the same video as usual? The Subaru driver drove awesome! Very quick launches especially with it bobbing at 6k rpm. You need to understand what is actually going on without just blindly watching what you think is happening.

Sounds more like boost cut which could be any number of problems. Fueling, ingnition, bad O2 reading, coolant temps even something as minimal as wrong plug gaps can trigger a over boost cut.

Scooby rev limit doesn't sound that high due to something not right, also that gearbox sounds like the close ratio version, better for standing drags. UK 6 speed would suit the subaru better as the ratios are longer for the rolling.

As a Subaru guy. I'm always sad when I see a Subaru on here. It's a proven fact that Subarus aren't drag race cars or roll race cars. They have very short gears. But it seems like they're never actually running well, and it makes me feel like everyone that brings one on the show is rushed or not ready. I wish just once there could be a really well sorted Subaru that could actually do something good.

I don’t know why the hp figures are that high in the uk but that skyline in Australia is a very mild street car making about 350kw’s at the wheels or 470hp (this is reflected in the mph of the 1/4mile) I know bhp is a crank horse power calculation but it’s by no means a serious build power wise. Sounds great & goes good but nothing serious. Australia gtr tour is needed bruv please!! Send it jamie 🙌🏼

22B had this same issue last time he was on here with his power cutting off. His gears are so short idk if he's acc utilizing the power for 3rd and 4th gears. Yes I hear the power gets cut but still. Maybe that's why it's cutting off power

I looked at the tappet cover and also the RB26 at the sound check as a higher pitch in the rev then an RB25.... But it still sounds sick. . Y’all I have a subi and the engine is hella strong but the pipes always have a problem, I also had to get aftermarket radiators, intake manifolds, and head gaskets it’s a good car but not for someone who doesn’t want to have the power with the maintenance.
