I bought a fully forged engine with a diesel box attached.. I’ll try find out what box it came from but it was 10 years ago I had no trouble with it but the ratios had been adjusted aswell to suit. I had 250-260 running through it. I went through 2 gearboxes before the diesel one and it lasted a full year of hard driving before I sold the car. Damn I miss my ep82 soo bad

I have my 1995 Starlet GT Advance 19 years next month, it’s completely original never messed with. Each to their own and all that but very few EP82 and EP91 Starlet Turbos survive in OEM state. These things struggle to get the power down stock I can’t imagine what that one must be like as you mentioned a handful. These are fast enough as they are for a 1.3 they are amazing ! I will be keeping mine original though !

I got to rebuild my car and get it on this channel! Very rare daihatsu charade gtti ..3 cylinder 993cc turbo! 780kg with around 240bhp when am finshed with it .a friends gotone he races 280bhp and keeps up with cars double the power !

I had one of those but replaced it with the 5efhe engine. I made 247whp on a dynapack dyno at 15psi. The dual runners from the 5efhe makes a huge difference to the torque curve once you figure out how to control them.

On the 4wfte moror you dont need to do the internals toake 300hp but it won't be reliable and it wont last long. But the stock compression is low and can handle boost.
