Your words, and the wonderful feelings they express, are truly heart warming. May they return to you and those who love a thousand times over. Today is February 12, 2024. On February 13, 1983, Marvin Gaye sang the Star-Spangled Banner at the NBA All Star Game. I'm passing it on to my Facebook friends. Oh Marvin, you are so missed.

Gaye's death certificate In the early afternoon of April 1, 1984, Gaye intervened in a fight between his parents in the family house in the West Adams neighborhood of Western Heights[5] in Los Angeles. He became involved in a physical altercation with his father, Marvin Gay Sr.,[106] who shot Gaye twice, once in the chest, piercing his heart, and then into his shoulder.[106] The shooting took place in Gaye's bedroom at 12:38 p.m. Gaye was pronounced dead at 1:01 p.m. after his body arrived at California Hospital Medical Center, the day before his 45th birthday

@Friends clips not exactly. His version came out in the 80s, not the 70s.. I was a teenager when the song came out. I'm 52. By your math I would have been 2 years old so I know your math is highly inaccurate. Sexual Healing came out in the 1980s.. not the 1970s and the song IS NOT ALMOST 50 YEARS OLD. In fact, the original commentor IS CORRECT. The song was released in 1982. It's 2021 now.. the song will be 40 YEARS OLD NOT 50... DUH
@StayGold7113 жыл бұрын
@Friends clips maybe you should of done some homework and got your information accurate before you came here making yourself look stupid by telling someone with 350 likes that they are wrong about how old the song is. You know what aggrivates people the most? People like you who come along accusing other people of being wrong, while you yourself are completely oblivious how absolutely incorrect you are. You owe the original commentor an apology, and I advise you never to play a game of Music Trivia.

As a person with a Musical background, I have been a fan of Marvin Gaye ever since early on in his musical career. Not only was he a musical genius, he was also a very handsome man. His music will for ever be very special to me; and of course many others. I recently played the tape regarding his addictíon and the spate between he and his father. The most painful memory of him is the sound of that fatal gun shot; followed by the flurry of activity to save his life; but his time had come and he suddenly left us. RIp musical genius 1:24

This song was talking about how when having sex with the right person (not casual sex that this world promotes) it can literally heal your body. “Whenever blue teardrops are falling, and my emotional stability is leaving me. I know you’ll be there to relieve me, the love you give to me will free me” “ if you don’t know the thing you’re dealing” most women don’t even recognize their vagina has the power to heal when aligned with the right person. Early 1980's when this single first came out, " Mike Lippenstein's Bar formerly at Bay Place, and Shore Road in Seaford Long Island- the Bar's jukebox had the single song when it first came out. I was eleven years and an only child. My parents were clientele of Mike's and I as a child got to go once every three months. At that young age ran a tab, drank orange soda on the rocks,... etc. The Bar closed a few months after this song by Marvin came out. The " Rail" as his establishment is forever a memory now. The Bar was decommissioned as he and his wife retired and moved permanently to Florida. A nearby Marina purchased the bungalow Mike's Bar was in years later, knocked the building down and winter storage for smaller pleasure pays is on the footprint of the former venue. To answer the question: Marvin Gaye was shot and killed by his own father. I believe that it was right after the release of the recording for Sexual Healing. Marvin's father had been a Pastor at some point, but had been living with Marvin in his own home. There was an argument about $, and Marvin Sr. shot Marvin Jr in cold blood. Marvin Sr went to jail for the murder and spent years in a medical prison wing. Marvin Sr now deceased.
