I'm from the Philippines, and as an Asian, we see Latinas as the biggest threats. But she made the exception, she looks very natural, classy, kind, humble and funny. When she won, she represented a Good Latin woman in the world that made me change my thoughts about latinas. I really love her.

Of all the editions of this pageant in the last decade, Paulina's, Catriona's, and even Demi's are the most predictable wins. i can tell she had been watching MU because like she was Miss Universe material head-to-toe. she was the contestant i had been looking for as a Miss Universe fan. in one night, she delivered everything a skillful pageant girl could. not to mention, she was a Latina from South America, that entitlement that she had was a bonus. the entitlement made her go straight to the top 5. the questions were difficult and boring, but she won, now you get my point.

She was a good and deserving MU, yes, but my respect and admiration for her truly skyrocketed the year after when she so wisely and so maturely handled the debacle onstage after the coronation announcement, in front of millions and during a very tense moment. And she did it so spontaneously and so regally even if things were not going well for Colombia. Such poise! Such thinking! Such act! Such a queen! Paulina!
