Connie, unwed and pregnant, is heading to Boston by train when she meets wealthy newlyweds Hugh and Patricia. The train crashes, and when Connie comes to in the hospital, she is mistaken for Patricia, who died in the crash with Hugh.

The character Patricia is *_so_* sweet to Connie. Never upset, quizzical when finding her in her cabin, but far from jealous and warm and open. Generous and welcoming, she is eager to talk to another woman, and sees her run in with Connie as an opportunity; not charity, or anything like that, but just genuine feelings of camaraderie over being pregnant and knowing no one. When watching this movie and scene (many times in the past, we had it on VHS not long after it came out, my mom was part of one of those movie clubs where you got a pile of VHS movies and then had to buy one on a regular basis for some time) I often tried to imagine what would have happened if they didn’t have an accident and if they would have helped her, if she would be around long enough or close enough or often enough for Bill to fall in love with her?

I've been in a coma, I was in trouble in July 4th, My blood sugar was in the 700's, when I woke up my legs no longer worked. The kids were getting on the bus in September, I looked strange, so my nuurse said I'd slept the summer away. I had to ahve physical therapy to walk, my right leg still doesn't work so well. When you are in a coma, you do dream, but nothing makes sense. Trust me, being in a coma is no party. My medical bills ran into the million dollar points. anyway, being in a coma is no fun.
