This shows, at least in my opinion, that cliche doesn’t need to be bad. “Villain comically explains his entire evil plan to the protagonist” is a super cliche trope but if it’s executed as well as this is, it’s fine, because it’s awesome anyway.

@Foxtrot66247 күн бұрын
It is fundamentally impossible to tell a story without the use of tropes. Really, go look up your favourite film and you will see dozens of them in each, in subtler ways than you’d imagine. The only times we ever notice tropes is when they’ve been overused so badly and so unisoiredly that they become predictable that they lose their charm. This was a novel application of the villain monologue trope so it felt completely fine in the context of the film, even without the subversion at the end because it was a fun, thematically fitting moment

@kurimzen7 ай бұрын
I think the doctor dying was a part of the failed attempt on the White Death’s life. Like, the plan was for Carver to hit the car to make it look like an accident and then if he didn’t die in the car crash, he’d die as a result of not undergoing surgery because the Hornet took out the only doctor that could help him. But as the White Death explained, he was brought elsewhere by fate and his wife instead took his place.
