I cannot speak highly enough of Wayne Mardle. I wish I could go out for a dinner with him for like 5 hours just talking about darts. Such a brilliant commentator on the sport, unequaled passion with a great sense of humor and the right attitude to describe what is happening in a way that both catches the drama but also doesn't ruin it for the knowledgable. Sorry for my english if what I said does not make sense, especially the last part but man I love Wayne Mardle's way of presenting Darts to the world

I petition that anytime Wayne works on camera, he be required to wear a Hawaiian shirt. I need those days back in my life. Really though, Mardle had one of the smoothest dart paths to the board I've ever seen. It kept its shape the whole way through to the board. I use the same flights, and they have a tendency to blow out and flip its way to the board. Looks like a screwball thrown at the board. I'm just kidding on the shirt, I'm sure he wouldn't like that idea. Looks sharp in a suit, too.

Wayne and John Gwynne were the ultimate darts commentator pairing. Won’t be any commentary better than the Premier League 2013 final. Yeah, the 2023 worlds final could’ve been, had MVG hit the 84-finish after the 9 darter and won 7-1 or 7-2.

I think the only way the GREATEST EVER darts leg between Smith and Van Gerwen could have been any better was if MVG attempted 141 instead of 144 at the end, so go 3 treble 20s in his 2nd visit instead of 2 treble 20s and a treble 19. Either way, it is definitely the greatest ever leg of darts, no questions asked.

He’s just like a meat and potato pie - simple and hits the spot!! Dan Dawson constructs his sentences a lot more eloquently, and indeed his cheeky comments - “what are you doing man” while hysterically laughing, do add dynamic that we’re sometimes missing from the slightly more boring commentators. Rod is excellent but Lanning and Waddell will always remain at the top for eternity!

Decent pundit, appalling commentator. Less is more in the art of commentary. All we get in the commentary box nowadays are conversations, and a bombardment of irrelevant stats by two blokes who treat the viewers like idiots. It's a far better 'sport' on mute!

I agree about the constant blabbering about irrelevant stats and historic moments that have nothing to do with the game being played. Both Dawson and Nicholson (and Mardle to a degree) are insufferable, can't get enough of their own voices.

@@bengilliam7877 i mean everyone has different opinions. Its so strange though how they can differ so much. Personally i love Dan Dawson and Paul Nicholson on commentary together. They compliment each other well.

The irrelevant chat is what makes commentary, without it you have what you get when the women do it. Just talking about what shots the players need and what they’ve hit, I can work that out for myself You really enjoy someone going “and Wayne needs a treble twenty here, and he’s hit it, now he needs a double 18”?
