I disagree with Mardle, Anderson plays at his rhythm, where he approaches the oche quickly, but not at a bad time. Notice how with any other player he is able to do that properly and not have an issue. You can't say Price over celebrates by staying in the oche for long, but then blame Anderson for approaching the encroachment zone fast due to Price celebrating too long. You can't have it both ways, knowing Price does it to put off his opponent. Not even van Gerwen does that to an extent of gamesmanship.

A BIT??? I am sorry, I just think, that you can celebrate when there is something to celebrate. In the darting world, celebrating a 95 with a roar into your opponents face is very weird and not even slightly necessary. The wrong thing here is that Price doesn’t do this all the time, he does this when he feels pressured. Instead of trying to work with yourself, play better, beat your opponent with what you have in your hand, he gets into his opponent’s mind. Darts is not a mind game, beat the guy you play against with your DARTS. With all that said. Price has got better, and he is a phenomenal player. Very talented and a cool and nice guy personally. He just have to act like a steady and kind player on stage too.

@retsoptihs04 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but how was any of this Price's fault? The only time I could really fault him was near the end (when he almost bumped into Gary) and that was because Anderson was encroaching. So that was 50/50. The earlier incidents, Gary stopping after throwing one dart to have a word with Price was on him. Gerwyn was having a drink of water at his table at the time, so couldn't possibly have done anything wrong. So basically, all Gerwyn did wrong was umm celebrate. While Gando twice stopped his throw to stir the pot (I don't know what was said but it could have waited until the end of the leg) and encroached into the exclusion zone, although not to the extent Wade did against Whitlock in the WGP that time. I hope to god some people here don't follow football - the celebrations there are much wilder. You'd be traumatised for life!

Unpopular opinion but I think Gary's behaviour is worse than Gerwyn's one in this match. The whole situation escalated because Gary made more out of Gerwyn's cheering as necessary. Gerwyn Price showed this eccentric attitude in every match before but because of a reason I don't know Gary seemed to believe Gerwyn did it only to provoke him and later on mocked Gerwyn with that. Furthermore darts is a non contact sport. That push from Gary was completely disgraceful. It's a shame the DRA did not sanction him in a proper way for his actions. The interview Gerwyn gave after the match was surely goony and his actions were not okay at all but until today I can't understand why people apply double standards.
@claymore325 жыл бұрын
53:29 Price made contact first. Hence why Gary pushed him away. Price also yelled directly in front of Gary. You don't do that. As for Gary, he was clearly had an issue after the 60 for 136, so I looked back over the footage, and I'm sure I saw Gerwyns mouth moving when he walked past. I think it only happened after Gary threw the first dart because he threw that quick. Pretty sure Gerwyn was talking then. I think Gary's poor playing at points, and possibly his physical problems, were to blame for some of Gary's anger. Not one who lets poor play slide.

Wow, looking back at this, Price really has changed as a player! There is so much arrogance in every move he makes, trying to make opponents upset. Nowadays he's just a regular turn-the-heat-on Darts player, he even was outscreamed by Rob Cross in the Europeans if you will. And he has said to turn his style down even more from now on. I like it, I think it has made him a better player and a more likable one. To the people constantly whisteling during Price's games: It's enough now. He's paid a really heavy price, literally and figuratively speaking and he has obviously learned the lesson. Would you hold yourself up to the same standard? Constantly punishing yourself for mistakes you made as the person you were a year ago? I do not think so. Leave the guy alone and let him do his job, thank you.

Anderson is far more disgraceful. He has ding dong after ding dong with whoever he’s playing. Price, Gurney, Lewis, Whitlock. Gerwyn was painted black after this incident but as far as I’m concerned Anderson instigated it all by being a pathetic baby. Luckily he’s the PDC’s golden boy so knows he can get away with whatever he wants. Anyone else doing what he’s done over the last few seasons would have had a huge fine and probably a ban too. Stop jumping on the ignorance bandwagon and see what’s actually going on.

I don't even think Price was out of order, he celebrated when it was justified. But I think Gary was just in a mood on the day, you can tell that by the first leg, Price justifiably celebrates a 120 when Anderson was sat on 32 for the break of throw, that is a huge checkout under pressure, there was no need for Gary to be so "unimpressed" in the first leg of the game, you could tell Gary was going to be grumpy from then on, he was just looking for a reason to be grumpy I think.

Price was a professional rugby player, right? Has anyone seen what happens when a rugby player scores? Imagine if a football (soccer) player became a dart player... They've spent their entire career over celebrating everything. I wouldn't expect anything less, and whoever's playing against him should expect it too. There's no point in complaining about it.
@milanw_3 жыл бұрын
agreed. plus there are other players that get pretty emotional too, mvg isn't exactly the quiet celebration type either just to name one. price is just being himself, if he'd started to play the way others want him to play he probably wouldn't even made it to top 100
