Giving the finger is a constitutionally protected activity that in no way hindered that officers ability to do his job. The guy doing 20 over is obviously a problem, but that should have been the only point of discussion until they came to the improperly labeled marijuana. Officer friendly got his feelings hurt and can't handle his own emotions. That's the whole story here.

Just a little FYI for some people, it's illegal to record in stores. It's private property. You can record at a police station, fire department, DMV, and other government owned locations since they're public property. Stores and businesses are private property, regardless of whether the owner is a civilian or not. Same thing goes if you step on someone's lawn, you are then committing trespassing and violating privacy. There are exceptions but overall it's always best to assume that any civilian on your property needs to have your permission to record on the premise.

Check the video, the guy was speeding, tailgating and also had d**g items in the car. The cop started losing his cool because the driver was being belligerent and arguing AFTER the cop was going to let him go for the first 2. Also, if you have ever had to experience what cops deal with, the criticism, the hatred and the sheer defamation, you might understand why he reacted like he did.

Businesses are authorized to perform certain practices in the name of loss prevention/asset protection through the license they acquire through the state. Those practices vary from state to state. However, much like a security guy at Macy's can cuff you, in a smaller independently owned establishment, the owner might be the one doing the cuffing, and that's his/her right afforded to them by the same government body that authorized and licensed them to conduct their business. It's not exactly the same as a citizen's arrest, but there are some parallels.
