To me Richie Blackmore is one of the most under appreciated rock musicians of all time. Apart from having two of the best guitar solos of all time, this one and Highway Star with Deep Purple (way,way ahead of his time). He put together some of the best musicians that most people had not even heard of at the time to create this incredibly innovative band .Tony Carey on keyboards (for me one of the best rock intros in rock with (Tarot Woman) right up there with Foreplay/More Than A Feeling from Boston and Funeral For A Friend by Elton John. Cozy Powell, one of the few drummers that could keep up and perform magical drum solos as well as percussion considering the new style of music they were putting on the map. Jimmy bain, a brilliant bass guitarist, and the icing on the cake, RONNIE JAMES DIO (R.I.P.) was the most brilliant idea Richie Blackmore had for this band. He was the driving force that gave this band their raw and incredible presence that set them apart from bands such as Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, etc. I give Richie Blackmore all my respect for putting this incredible talent together and be a part of the advent of what we are listening to now.
