I don't mean this as a criticism and I am 100% in agreement that all the responders are incredible people who deserve thanks, especially in dire situations such as this one. It just strikes me as a little odd to wait until you've given all the thanks and told the mayor how wonderful she is and listed every single fire department and police department that aided in the rescue, to mention the fact that the operation has moved from rescue to recovery. I would have thought it would be extremely difficult for anyone who might have been watching this and was desperately waiting for news to have to sit through 10 minutes of that first. Like I said, everybody who helped in any way at all deserves recognition and thanks, I know I could never do that type of work, especially in those type of frigid temperatures and water. It just seems like that could wait until a little bit later in the press conference, out of respect for people who are desperately waiting for the latest news. I don't know, that's just my thought. It just seems like so many awful things are happening these days 😞 My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy.

I understand ATC told the Army training helicopter to see and avoid the airline. The helicopter pilot answered they had. One question is if the helicopter personnel were looking at the wrong airline since multiples were coming in to land. Listening to ATC is very instructive. @KatiB55875 сағат бұрын
Can your brother change his arrival airport to another nearby if you and your family are uncomfortable? 1/13/1982 there was a passenger aircraft with I think 70 or 78 onboard, that had a crash into a nearby part of the river, also colliding with a bridge. The water was icy, so anyone that survived the impact would have passed within minutes from extreme hypothermia. I don't know the cause of that incident, but it's unsettling that there's been two incidents with significant loss of life in the same area. I've always had an uneasy feeling when flying into or out of Reagan but never knew why. Granted aircraft accidents are so incredibly rare and I'm literally waiting to board a flight at O'Hare before a long haul from LAX to Australia (MEL) and not feeling any unease... But if your brother can change to a different arrival airport to make your family feel less anxious, it's worth looking into. 😢 🤍

@ I have flown into Baltimore airport but I rented a car so distance wasn’t important. Also booked other family members into Baltimore since it’s cheaper from our city. @gregorylyon1004 Do you honestly think that a specific reason behind their deaths makes their loss any easier? Do you believe that making someone "pay" for what they did lessens the agony? No, it does not. It only makes it harder to grieve because blaming someone or anyone or anything blunts the grieving process. It is only our American mindset that thinks finding the person responsible will alleviate the pain. Nothing but time will do that, and never fully. And I didn't say "just" an accident. You did. I said it was a HORRIBLE accident. Accidents happen every day and are never 100% avoidable. That's why they are called Accidents. It's tragic and heartbreaking. We only are feeling it because it's on the news and it happened here at home. Tens of thousands die every day in accidents of all kinds. We just don't know about them because they are not on the news. But they are all tragic to the people who lose someone.

Very sad but please put it correctly that the helicopter collided with the jet. He was where he was supposed to be. Stop thanking every service for showing up, this is what they are supposed to do. Condolences for the families of the dead would be more appropriate.

Okay, enough BS with everyone coming up and expressing sorrow for the loss and thanking all the agencies. How about putting out some actual information.

There isn’t any. And there won’t be until both black boxes are recovered and extensively analyzed. It will be likely weeks before that comes.

My condolences to the families affected by the tragedy. I hope they provide answers soon for the waiting families. This looks like a training mission gone wrong on part of the military. May their soul rest in peace.

Pilot acknowledged he had visual on the crj and yet collided with the aircraft... something is not right here and why was he above 200ft in the aircraft flight path!?

Black hawk down, collided with passenger jet. Thank you for actually phrasing it properly, alot of news outlets spinning the tale as if its the jets fault. US army has helluva explaining to do.

Condolences to all victims and their families. No details bc NTSB had jurisdiction and they can’t say anything. Why want there a spokesman from that agency there? No details why hold this briefing? Ugh

Dan grider has been talking about this happening for a long time on his KZbin channel. This was a completely avoidable accident. Air traffic controllers are every bit as much to blame for this.

I used to watch Dan. Enjoyed him. Then he let politics creep in to his videos. No thanks. Unsubbed. Such a shame when creators alienate viewers.
@kevinmoore3423 сағат бұрын
@juniemoon1528 he has never let politics indie hits channel. I have no idea where you get that from. Let's say that he did. It doesn't matter because what he's doing is far more important than any politics. Keeping people alive is all that is important to him.

@juniemoon1528 I have been a pilot for over 35 years. Dan greiner is doing and saying the right things politics are not. He's right.

@@kevinmoore342 I’m sorry but you’re wrong. He doesn’t have to voice his opinion, when he’s posting things, for people to get his point. He’s right wing, and it’s beyond obvious. I did respect the work he does, but I don’t need to be reminded of the foul situation we’re in.

The Blackhawk was a new trainees. Experts are saying this tragic event wouldn't have happened had Trump not fired all experienced seasoned workers from every department. Trump fired the TSA, military, government workers, etc. There were employees shortages, and new trainees were called in to do the job in certain dept across the states. This could have been avoided! Chaos, tragic events, deaths are bound to happen when you have a convicted criminal running the country. My condolences goes to all the families.
@StarCityFAME5 сағат бұрын
Looked like plenty of workers on the ground. They apparently avoided getting fired except for the people in your imagination.

He is no different from any other president before him. They are super rich and don't give af about you. It is ridiculous that you'd think they would care about some worker bee 😂
@FlexSZN23Сағат бұрын
This FAA official seems to be misinformed because literally every other source is saying the Blackhawk was flying way too high and was crossing the final approach path. And it’s common sense that both the plane and helo couldn’t both be on the same “correct path” unless correct means collision course.

Was the change of runway for the CRJ (American) a factor? Was the reported "visual sighting" of the CRJ by the military helicopter actually another departing flight that he saw?
