Few bassists have covered more ground over the years than Rudy Sarzo. When it came time for Rudy to update his signature instrument, Rudy worked very closely with Spector to ensure that the Euro4 LT RS would supply him with the feel and tone that his craft commands. Rudy’s reimagined signature model was designed to be lightweight and comfortable for long gigs and sessions. As such, the fully carved body is crafted from chambered Empresswood and adorned with a unique Figured Maple top. The three-piece maple neck is complemented with a 24 fret Ebony fingerboard, adorned with Spector’s signature Crown inlays. Additionally, the Euro4 LT Rudy Sarzo is outfitted with Spector’s lightweight locking bridge and nut and Gotoh GB-350 tuners to keep the weight to a minimum. To make the most of this instrument, the Euro4 LT RS is equipped with the impressive Fishman Fluence electronics system, which offers an incredible array of tones for any situation. To top it off, Rudy’s new bass features a high gloss Scarlett Red finish, which is exclusive to this model.
Specs:
• Figured Maple Top
• Ultra-lightweight Empresswood Body
• 24 Fret Ebony fingerboard
• 3-pc Maple Neck
• Crown inlays
• Lightweight locking bridge and nut
• Gotoh GB-350 tuners
• Fishman Fluence electronics system
• High Gloss Scarlett Red finish

I've never experienced a delay in sound with any of the hundreds of basses I've played in my lifetime.

Selling the speed of pickups is quite weird indeed 🤷🏻‍♂️ I focus way more on the temperature of the bridge, or the smell of the output jack.

Exactly. While the Fluence line of pickups (I owned 3 sets) is indeed an innovation in pickup design, I see it mostly as a gimmick. Too hifi for my tastes too.

I don't doubt that someone with Rudy's ear can detect the delay that normal people can't hear... Donald Fagen says he can hear a snare drum to within 1/10th of a millisecond behind or ahead of the beat. At first I was like "Yeah, right!" but on further reflection, I think maybe he actually does have a hyper-sensitive sense of time. After all, these guys are the best, top level musicians...

Rudy Sarzo knows very well his Spector signature bass guitar. And he knows very well also how to play his Spector signature bass guitar. A true legendary bassist. A wizard and a virtuoso on the bass guitar. I just want to play bass guitar and perform like Rudy Sarzo.

Rudy is one of the best musicians we have. I don't think he meant an actual audible delay like a latency problem when recording direct into a computer. I think he was referring to attack. The signal doesn't noticibly ramp up to peak. When the string is struck the sonic and magnetic permutations producing the electric sine wave are extremely responsive, almost like there is a compressive element to the design. I know this sounds like word salad, but, play a real cheap low end bass and you will hear a sluggishness. Rudy don't lie.

Electromagnetic fields pick up string vibration and converts it into electric currents. Basically, on any pickup the signal moves close to the speed if light. No way Rudy can hear a delay.
@bassplayer807
@bassplayer807 2 жыл бұрын
What about Donald Fagen or whatever someone mentioned on here can hear a snare 1/10 millisecond behind or ahead of the beat, same type of physics play into that too, so in other words it’s impossible to detect?
@xxlocobassistxx
@xxlocobassistxx 2 ай бұрын
The signal going from the strings to an amp is moving much faster than 1/10th a second. That's an eternity in electronics. Fishman isn't breaking the speed of light in their pickup wiring, and even if they were, nobody, not even the great Donald Fagan, or Walter Becker's ghost, could perceive it.

Rudy and I love you Man your the best was my man when I first started I had his instructional tapes and books any thing Rudy I could get my hands on, Long story short as well as many others I could pull off of, playing heavy Metal cover tunes in a band, done gigs FUN!!!, and I used Spector one that was custom painted By wayne jarrrett and was gave to me from a wonderfull person, the first dipped crackel sunrise finish I had ever seen neck and pickups the whole bass And it was bad ass! Spector is the only bass I would even think of starting back with hands down and I mean it.. Spector!! for now Im having spent some time locked doors practice and im trying to go guitar.. sure is fun BUT Covid shut me down for a while .. Any bass player to be or pro go fo the Spector man youll never need another unless owning a rack full of basses is in your finanace, Rock on and Rock Hard!!! Signed the real Buddy Tickle...

How is this *his* signature bass if he found it hanging on a wall and picked it up? From his telling of the story, everything about this bass was in tact when he stumbled upon it. I'd still try it, but because I like the way it looks, not because of anything having to do with this piss poor marketing job. (And I have nothing against Sarzo, except he uses the word "signature" too much; I have *no* idea who he is.)
