They did use a 4.6 Ford Modular engine for the first Koenigseggs but it wasn’t the SOHC one from the CV, it was 32 valve DOHC from Mustang Cobra, and only retained about 20% original parts, mainly the block. In fact Koenigsegg claims on their website that they re-engineered it and built it in house.

It was a terrible engine. Destroyed gas, too damn loud, sounded awful and had terrible reliability. Just look at the Testarosa for proof of this. The engine wasn't smooth, it was terribly unreliable and sounded very mid for not that much power. The 512 TR improved on it but technically the engine in both of those isn't a flat 12 or a boxer 12, but it's own engine. Basically, you don't see many flat/boxer 12's for a reason

If you know modular engines. There's not much of a difference between the 2v and 4v blocks. I'm no expert on modular engines but they're my favorite engine ever made. And have built 2, both 4.6 2v and 4v id choose a 4.6 2v over a 4.6 4v but never a 5.4.

@@user-yv2xb6fb1gout of the 4.6s id have to choose the termi 4v. much more tuning potential with the forged 4v than with the 2v and non-forged 4v. even with the 3v, you cant make much power at all NA. most ive seen is like 350 wheel?? with boost max is like 500 crank stock internals. more than the 2 valve, but still not a lot. the 5.0 changed the game for ford owners because they could do a few bolt ons, change the fuel, and they already up to 500hp😂or more

Just to let you all know the Crown Vic used cast iron 4.6l 2v engines of either the Romeo or Windsor variety. The CC8S used one of the aluminum varients of the 4.6l 4v... Similar but not quite the same.

That engine was also use by Steve Saleen in the S7 car which was a twin turbo car making 750 plus hp at the tap, So the ford motor engine was used in many cars along Side this car , From the Shelby cobra to the kt car from the 1980’s (forgot the name) was also used from ford , And many more to boot , this engine was a incline from top designers who made this motor what it is, Ford again redone this motor in there new ford trucks as the Godzilla motor, that’s the name and don’t wear it out !

Not bullet proof but had ballistic panels installed in the doors. Bought a few and they leave the panels inside the doors! If your lucky enough to bid on one! Other than that they remove all the good stuff from under the hood youll just get an engine thats missing some extra stuff but all n all it a good car each one lasted 145k miles! One came with just 5k miles on it killed over at 48k miles not bad for 500.00!

modular engines were used only in the CC series. All 4.7s are Ford engines, but the 5.0 V8 engine used in the Agera series was completely manufactured by Koenigsegg. The Agera series ushered in an era of domesticity for Koenigsegg, and now they produce engine systems with tremendous technologies.

They did a whole hell of a lot more than just supercharge it. By the time they were done the engine was practically unrecognizable. So yeah it's based on a Ford engine but don't expect to go get one and just slap a supercharger on it and get the same performance out of it.

I love the fact that big companies like Audi ignored Keonigsegg, same thing happened when Gordon Murray who wanted Honda to supply engines for the Mclaren F1but was ignored. Now these legendary brands Mclaren and Keonigsegg have with partnership of ford for Chriatian and BMW for Gordon reached legendary status. Honda and Audi must be regretting their decisions of ignoring these small humble supercar manufacturers.

The modular V8 was in the SVT Mustang Cobra’s, a few rare ones like Mach 1’s, etc and I believe the ( platform sharing ) limited edition, Mercury Marauder. But the police spec Crown Victorias mostly used the SOHC V8 found in the Mustang GT and many of the trucks from Ford at that time. And yep, Christian v Koenigsegg definitely did use Ford engines as a base on the original cars.
