@brandonwatson88325 күн бұрын
Mark Felix (56) and Iron Biby were not participating in the entire competition, only going for the world record in the Hercules hold, which is why they are not included in the score. It would not be fair to compare other athletes who are competing in multiple events and thus have to be judicious with their exertion at each event vs. athletes competing in only one event. Same thing with the log or deadlift world record attempts during these competitions.
@DateandElevate-ju7lj23 күн бұрын

Not taking away anything from Mitch, at all. But i believe the competition is not as it used to be. The fact that Mitch 'dominates' contests can be 2 things: 1. Mitch is really really strong like superman and no one can touch him. 2. The competition is simply not at the level at it used to be, for a meriad of reasons. I believe its reason no 2.

The depth of talent is bigger now than it ever has been. 4 men pulled 470kg a few weeks ago? Hardly at a lower level… Mitch is just that good
@pectenmaximus23123 күн бұрын
Strongman has a larger talent pool than ever and each year new records are set in pulls and presses. Maybe he has invested more time than others in conditioning, so he has the endurance to hit each event hard? Or maybe the particular mix of events favours his type of athleticism over other types? For a good comparison maybe look at Mariusz - wasnt small but not big like his competition, yet he dominated because he was a total freak and the events, over the full run of them, suited him.

@DateandElevate-ju7lj23 күн бұрын
@@GiantsLiveSTRONGMANNo he’s not. Not close. Not a knock on hooper but no he is nowhere close to Mesi. Mesi brings a level of skill never seen in the largest talent pool in the world and the gap is HUGE between him and everyone else - and he maintained that huge gap for like a decade and a half. Mitch is AWESOME. But mitch being the messi of strongman would be like if he won all the events while using only one arm l, weighing 200 lbs flat and did it every year for 4 times as long as he has been even participating in strongman. That being said mitch is awesome and maybe an even better role model as his brilliant approach - knowledge etc make him phenomenally great and we could learn from that. Messi apparently , not saying he is lazy by any means, but I have never heard anything about him being a harder working pro then usual and was notorious for eating junk food until recently. He is closer to an x men style mutant than to a “normal” best in the wos type guy. Mitch is still early - if he wants to keep on for 5+ years and wins near😢 everything each time could call him MJ of strongman with something to it imo. It is fun and great hype for the sport though!🎉 Just respectfully disagreeing
