Awesome event! I want to emphasize the fact that Hafthor is the *undisputed, greatest of all time* on this strength discipline which dates back to centuries ago in Irish Highland games. Hafthor holds all three of the staple Max height keg toss world records, outright: - 12.5 kg (28 lb) over 8.54 m (28 ft 0 in) - unbeaten for 10+ years at the time of this comment - 15 kg (33 lb) over 7.77 m (25 ft 6 in) - this performance (just listen to B @ 54:02) - 25 kg (55 lb) over 6.00 m (19 ft 8 in) - unbeaten for 12+ years at the time of this comment He also holds the world records in - Weight over bar (which dates back to 600 years ago in Scottish Highland games) having broken the world record an incomprehensible 12 times so far, - David Webster one arm sandbag over bar, and - Sandbag over bar (both max height and max weight) Another forever memorable world record of Hafthor is the 8 keg speed run from 2014 WSM, heaving 8 kegs each weighing 18-25 kg (40-55 lb) over a 4.9 m (16 ft 1 in) bar in 16.35 sec. Just ask Brian how amazing it was.
@kimwarfield15876 күн бұрын
I hold the record for full keg run. 160lbs. 30 yards to the front door, down the Commons stairs, around the corner and down the hall to the steps. I ran up 7 flights of stairs, and down three flights to the fourth floor to avoid the floor staff and then down the hall around the corner and three rooms down to my room. I also hold that record for carrying 10 cases of glass bottle beer in a suit bag, at 150lbs. Both these dorm runs were done several times and took approximately 2 to 3 minutes each time. Yes, I am a legend from 1979 through the 80s at Ball State University, in Indiana.

Thor's technique with that little hop backwards is just far superior because he's getting more leverage behind the throw, he's just a natural athlete and so is Mitchell Hooper, he does a more athletic throw too

This show is still new and working out all of the kinks. Give it time, this is not a show on network TV with insane budgets. Give as much criticism like this as you can and overtime it will change and improve. Brian actually cares and will make it better.

@@Bound4Earthfirst time watching and I thought it was great the only thing I noticed was the gate needs a clip on it easy to open and strong enough that a keg won't bust thru it and maybe have half the men on one side and the others sitting on the other so so they don't all have there backs to one side that's just a thought but I will keep watching I enjoyed it I also seen the dead lift these men are unbelievable I have a question how many hours do they spend training per week
@Bound4Earth8 күн бұрын
@@sborgum Yeah and you are dealing with an old man like Shaw. It will come just give it time. They are still figuring everything out. I will take this over WSM that might show it in 2 years, just fucked loser shit because they cannot make a deal with CBS or just livestream it. Greed pure and simple and we lose because of it. It is bad for the sport, Rogue and this event and Shaw Classic have done nothing but good for the entire industry. I can deal with some missing or not great overlays for a year or two over not seeing a show because WSM is still terrible. I personally didn't miss overlays as I was actively watching and could easily track everything. But again you should add your comments so they can add what you want, or don't. But when you whine like you did, you just sound like a baby wanting to hear themselves cry. WAAAAAAAAAH TWITCH OVERLAY I SHOULDNT HAVE TO COMMENT WAHHH.

Smarter athletes is the future of Strongman. Because without it, you will not beat Hooper or even Licis if he comes back to form. Both would strategize and win not based on killing every event, but winning 1-2 events and placing high in all but maybe one event. Glad to see Shaw clarify the rules on deadlifting. He knew the rules and should have practiced them on all lower weight lifts to ensure the straps did not slip. That is why Hooper is so amazing. He doesn't just follow the rules, but exploits them by following them perfectly. Others try to call him out, but he is just being smart. You don't have to lift as you train if you can get more reps by using other methods.
