This song feels like being lifted into the heavens while your friends and family smile and wave, and you are smiling and waving back. Beautiful

It reminds me of a dream I had, recurring, a few months back, I still get it actually - It's me and it's my family but everything is different. It's the way it was 'supposed to be...' Like another parallel kinda deal, where I made the opprtunities count and I put in more effort. Swans still have the ability to reach into the abyss that is my soul and wrench emotions from me that I don't even know. Ebbing and The Beggar Lover (Three) are just mesmerising. One of a very meagre handful of albums that I am digging the shit outta this year!

There’s just something about Swans. They can do so many varied styles and approaches to music and succeed at all of them

Saw it at the Troxy last year and made me feel “how the hell are these musicians making this incredible soundscape”. Best concert I’ve ever seen.

Under sulfur skies The drunken tides will pull us in Unfolding - but not breathing Upon your breast I'll rest my head, in laziness Gestating - just dreaming but not breathing My swallowed tongue my wounded dove Your eyes are mine, occluding We're sinking, just drifting Not breathing, but releasing In shallow ponds within your palm There lies a mind, dissolving Not seeing, unfolding Not thinking, releasing repeating, releasing Not breathing, not breathing Releasing, releasing relеasing

The first part is giving me 60's Pink Floyd vibes, almost sounds like it could have come off of A Saucerful of Secrets. Such a cool song

Michael .... THANK YOU!! Just fucking THANK YOU...... All the best my friend and do think about SWANS like it's your failure. You're an artist man, and true art will never be understood by those morons. FUCK all those pop-shit. I'm an 87'. Born waaay after first SWANS album recorded. Now I'm 36 and you know what? Your art is giving me hope, man. I absolutely and truly love what SWANS are doing and I'm trully grateful for all the art you're doing. You gave me hope man. You gave me hope in all those miserable days I have right now. Sorry for my poor English - straight from Poland, man. Just... Keep what you're doing. It's giving me strenght. It's giving me strenght when I must to wake up at 5:30 am every day to prepare my children to kindegarden, then to go to work for 9 hours, pick them up, bath them, feed them and put to sleep - everything by myself because my woman prefers to watch TikTok every evening when I'm doing my kids... Anyway, you've had your own experiences. I just want to tell you - THANK YOU! I know every SWANS album, from the EP to THE BEGGAR and I will never forget all the emotions you gave me through all of the albums from FILTH right to the BEGGAR. Michael, thank you. Know that there's people that can hear... They can hear YOU. Keep going with SWANS. Take care.

So cool, hauntingly beautiful and yet so very primitive. Guess this was the way the ancient music unfolded way back in Africa or where ever.

Michael admired Popol Vuh's 'Sei Still...' album, surely it wasn't the only one of theirs. This goes back to 'White Light', probably a part of PV's 'Bruder des schattens' is the inspiration for this kind of mantra-rock, can't remember which other pieces by PV......someone pointed the link out to me around 30 years ago. Took a while to realize he was right......
