All costumes are made new, they will try a few of the old actors costumes on if they have very similar measurements, but other then that all of the costumes are handmade for each person. I heard that understudy Morrible's only get 2 dresses as opposed to 4 so they just do the show with 2 instead of 4. Also, something they do try to recycle is wigs, for example they measure the size of an actors head and then go through a log to see if they match any measurements that they already have :)

Can anyone tell me about their beading methods?? The beadwork on this is absolutely gorgeous, but would be INCREDIBLY time consuming with just a normal needle and thread.

I feel bad. I thought Elphaba's Act II dress was just black and there were things with the lighting making the highlights ans sparkles. I feel like an idiot. XD

@OfficialWICKED I like the costumes for WICKED, but, in my opinion, Julie Taymor's costumes for Disney's 6-time-Tony-award-winning Broadway musical "THE LION KING" are slightly better because of the thrillifying, astounding attention to all the detail on the beading for are the lion and lioness costumes. I mean, no offense to WICKED, which I know is a highly-acclaimed musical and I wish to see it, but THE LION KING is a LANDMARK musical event. Believe me. I've seen it. What about the people at
