The best thing about this is it escalates rapidly into a level of absurd that demands one at least questions whether this has been on purpose from the start just to fuck with them. The very second drink you immediately think it. Then you get the candy and he just seems stupid. Then you get the chocolate milk and it's like "Okay, that's too much...right? Surely..." Finally, the potatoes come out and there it is. No one on that rocket doesn't think he just did all that except to fuck with them. And yet, he never even hints that he's being anything but honest about doing his best to accomplish an ill-advised task in a manner that he thinks will work out to a reasonable conclusion.

So I've just read an IAmA post Trevor did on Reddit a few years back, and I learned on there that they only one take to do this, because it basically ruined the set, and that Timmy broke character and laughed a few times around the chocolate milk bit, and tries so hard to hold it back. Trevor was incredibly talented and wrote/performed in smarter, more clever bits. But this, this is him at his most unabashedly silly, and I've always come back to it for that reason. This sketch could make me smile on the worst of days. This feels like one of those timeless bits that doesn't require language or anything to come across, an inherently funny concept. It would translate just as well in the silent film era for example. We lost a beacon of joy today, truly.
