This video finally made me buy Eisenhorn trilogy. It is a nice read.

It's simple mathematics why. Our brain works that way.. we like it more the more parts of our brain are active while learning information.. which is why school is so annoying and readng and listening is boring without music

My favorite part of their interactions will always be when Pontius asks Eisenhorn to describe the taste and texture of the wine he's drinking. Such a small scene, but i cant help loving the writing. Truly Dan Abnett at his best.
@MrEvan3123 жыл бұрын
I've listened to this several times today already, Longworth's voice is right up there with Mark Strong's voice for just fitting so damn well into the 40k setting, and how he can read two such distinctly different characters in this scene.
@zachsmith1676 Жыл бұрын
perhaps... but comparing Toby's voice for Gregor with Mark Strong's version (in the Eisenhorn: Xenos game) Mark's voice is letdown... probably due to the weird pauses between bits of dialogue... dialogue bit #1 pause pause dialogue bit #2 and so on... seemed too robotic to be a natural cadence of conversation

Eisenhorn sure knows hot to cross the line with a truck.

The trilogy is full of moments where you look at what Gregor has done, and think "how is that that we've come so far... and that it makes perfect sense?"
@truckwarrior59443 жыл бұрын
@@Sinewmire Well it's not a triology anymore, it's a tetralogy since 2018 ^^

@@truckwarrior5944 when Mostly Harmles came out it was labelled 'book five of the increasingly inaccurately named "Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy Trilogy"' So let's go with that 😉

@@Sinewmire I'm just scared that Dann Abnett will trigger the "no turning back" for him, I mean... Quixos accomplished many great deeds using the warp, only to forfeit into madness thinking by sacrificing billions would save trillions, and being felled by Eisenhorn

I’ve enjoyed WH40k for over two decades now. I’ve waxed and waned in my attentions of the hobby (books/lore only) many times over the years, as many enthusiasts do so when enjoying something over significant periods of time. I still recommend this clip to new people who are interested. It’s a 40k Sherlock & Moriarty. The format is familiar, but the setting twist and context has changed. It’s like a new twist on and old favorite cocktail. Goes down smooth *insert evil wink*. Also-the voice acting here is just stunning. The growling, the sighs, the twinned voices as Glaw is speaking. Monstrously enjoyable. I really hope to see more work from this group moving forwards.

toby longworths voice is just so good, i could listen to him narrate every book in 40k and still come right back for more

Longworth knew how to make such an intimidating voice for a villain like Glaw. Him and Andrew Wincott are the best

'Everyone is damned. Mankind is damned.' This hits hard given what we know about the sea of souls. So much of the imperium is built around keeping mankind blissfully unaware of two truths: a) there is scientific proof of the afterlife b) that afterlife is ceaseless torture and pain and makes no distinctions for who you were in life, your morality, or your loyalty to the emperor. Literally the only way to escape that fate is to suck up to the torturers and hope that they'll turn you into one of their horrific, insane number with zero guarantee that theyll hold their end of the bargain.
