Ford Updated the Fuel Filters for the 6.7 Powerstroke and it's Awesome!

Curious if micron filtering rate is the same or improved. However, unsure how i feel having a built in bypass in a fuel filter - esp the 6.7 powerstroke fuel system. Fir what its worth, chang emy fuel filters on myb17 F350 at 10k intervals and oil at 5k. Maybe $$ wasted, but iylt makes me feel better. Tks for vid and announcement.

The upper filters failing is a real thing. I had one develop a small pin hole that sprayed fuel all over. Luckily I caught it before a fire started.

New 2024, switching lower filters to FASS, much better water filter 99.8%, removes air in fuel and more serviceable, adds a lot more protection for CP4 getting water. For upper, adding the upper filter relocation kit, moving it below and better spin-off filter. Ford makes a great diesel & truck, but can improve a lot in some areas… filters.

Good call on the drain valve spare. I got bit by that last month and had to go find a Dorman on a Sunday .

The smaller upper nub on the filter housing always breaks off if your not carefull !

did you said a ccv box for a 2023, will fit on a 2019 ccv box? would love to get a aparrt #. Thanks

Yes it looks totally different but it will fit right in there. PowerstrokeTechTalkwArod on yt has done a couple videos on replacing\updating them

The bypass has been in the upper filter since the FD4625AA. So not unique or new to this newest version.

Thank you for the information. I have a question directed at Ford. I am a Ford guy, but now days? OK. Why build a platform that is so sensitive that it causes its own self destruction? Moisture/water issues, filtering to filter... our fuel is pretty clean however there will be moisture due to condensation. Is it Fords plan to build something that easily breaks down so they can readily fix it at extreme costs. Of course it is after the warranty period...Are they seeking job security? Wow if they built something not so sensitive that was durable... I believe in filters but one can follow all the rules and have a grenaded fuel system costing thousands! Now a bypass, bypass the contaminates directly into the marshmallow injectors? I have had to replace 2 injectors on a 2013 f450 with 34,000 miles? I have followed all the maintenance schedules and used Ford for most of them! Ford please explain your job security.

Buy the aluminum drain plug from spe. Never break the ears off again.

water drain is the most ignored component. I buy my own fuel and filter to 2 microns, so far a lot cleaner than the standard fuel pump fuel.

what filer do you use for that (2 micron fuel filters) ?

@@tattooedmillionair I have a pair of wix filters, I'll get the part numbers. I think one is a cat crossover fuel polishing filter and the other has a water drain valve.

Only upgrade, ford , issue a recall, put spin on filters for easy maintenance for my 6.7

Are spin on not as efficient? If they are good why not use two in series? Share make it easier.

Hey ford if these trucks are so damn sensitive to water why not have a system that purges the water as needed with sensors. Its not like you dont have enough other sensors on the truck causing problems. Lol
