Great video and narration, as always. There's even a glimpse of me at 3:31 on that hill. And then again at 4:12 on the next nasty uphill. Last year's CK race was a wake-up call for me that I needed to get a lot better. This race was more of a reality check for me that maybe I'm just too out of my league. You did well under the circumstances.

This race was a reality check for everybody, but it is imo one of the most extreme one on the calendar (cord being the most), having said that ive not tried the sudbury one!

Very accurate description of my experience also. It was my only XC race this year and i was not physically prepared for it. I took several breaks to catch my breath and get my heart rate down, and fought severe leg cramps all the way home. I was looking for the finish line after the first hour and was a zombie after well over 3 hours at the end of lap 2. Yes, that hill was unexplainably difficult, lol. Love your video and sense of humour, thanks for posting.

oh man you got the gnarliest XC of the year too for your one and only! In reflection the previous years were not even close to this difficult, this year was something else! hopefully next year they calm it down a little bit to get some flow going, or least make it slightly shorter laps haha. 3 hours of CK is absolutely savage.

haha thanks man, I'm quite disappointed with my performance this year, but now I'm more fired up to practice and return stronger next year. So many things I can improve on for next time.

I heard this one was a grind. 2 laps sounds about standard for the day haha. Good on you for pushing through. The crew and I did the KATVA trails around Greens and Waterfall Trail the same day instead. Waterfall was a similar grind. So many roots and rocks. I was laying on my bars exhausted every time we stopped haha.

2:10 167 "Finishers". There were quite a few people (~40ish?) who didn't complete even a single lap and weren't included in the results. I was better prepared this year so I did finish a full lap but it was still too much for me.
