It really wasn’t too bad but it did take a lot longer then I expected. If you have a garage or shop to build inside it definitely makes it easier. I had to build in my driveway so getting anything done in the winter was impossible

Thanks for the tour. This is the shape of the camper I want to start building this month. I plan to fiberglass and several coatings of paint. I like the simplicity of your build. The PVC water tank is a great idea. Where did you buy the black aluminum trim around your camper?
@nickforster24962 ай бұрын
It was all bare aluminum that I painted black. You can get most of the right angle trim at home centers or metal suppliers. The two pieces in the front angled roof portion I ordered online, I searched for 135* aluminum

I've been asked about 12 Volt compressors to use inflating paddle board, air mattress and charging my hot water tank on the top side for showers. Sadly most people have NO IDEA what is the best for the price and powerful enough. As a professional airbrush artist since the 60's ... I have made a portable 12 volt spray make-up for Disney and FOX make-up artist and also for temporary tattoos, with the oldest being 4 years old... I have one in my tear drop. Sparmax makes a single cylinder 12 volt pump ... Iwata makes one, but they are actually made by "Sparmax" Corporation for them and for that extra 100 bucks you get an "Iwata" Sticker .... your choice... The only thing I did for the tattoos and makeup was a foot switch for a tattoo artist.

Really amazing job, it looks insane. It's very inspiring and I'm thinking about doing a similar build. Could you explain how you mountaind the plywood walls on the squar tube frame? Did you weld some metal brackets on the frame in order to srcrew the plywood in? Thanks :)

One awesome trailer! Do you mind sharing where you got the rear door from?
@nickforster24962 жыл бұрын
The rear door came from challenger door. It was a custom order and ended up being about 400 after shipping. You get to choose the color and door latch style and how much it opens which is nice. They do have some standard none custom sizes too I believe.

how did you do the 45* exterior trim on the front near the solar panel ? That is where I am stuck on my trim, can't find a 45 and didn't want to do 2 flat pieces.

your exterior finish looks really good. did you just sand and painted the plywood? could you elaborate more on how you did it? thanks

I used a pray on bed liner over plywood. I skipped a very important step that I would 100% recommend which is to fiberglass the plywood first.

What did you use for the walls? FRP Panels?
@nickforster24968 ай бұрын
I sprayed raptor liner over wood. If I did it again I’d maybe use aluminum panels, they are just hard to get.
@minutemenapparel8 ай бұрын
@@nickforster2496 ah gotcha. I was considering using frp panels but I’ve found ACM panels in stock here in Salt Lake.
@nickforster24968 ай бұрын
@minutemenapparel1539 the main issue with frp panels is they are made for exterior use and don’t have anything to prevent UV from deteriorating them. You could possible coat them with an exterior paint or something
@minutemenapparel8 ай бұрын
@@nickforster2496 right, was considering using Raptor liner as the coat, since it’s already textured.

Whats the tongue weight and the total weight of the square drop?

these are my problems with mini square drop campers theyre to small for two people to be comfortable the doors are tiny my fiance and myself are both over average height and in our 40's crawling in and out one of those would be so uncomfortable lastly the aero dynamics of those things is that of a brick people never talk about the increased fuel consumption due to wind resistance people only want to talk about how lightweight those campers are im glad i realised all these things before i built one edited:to insert omitted word
