Seriously the nicest looking kit for a WK2 Ive seen, its both functional and also does not hinder the original look of the car like other Australian companies bars do (Others look like they have modded a toyota or nissan bar to the jeep)

Absolutely Fantastic!! Solves many of the problems that have kept me from considering previously available WK2 upgrades. Roof rack will probably be my first choice to install. The increased weight it can carry is what is so seriously needed. I agree with a previous post that a gate for spare tire on the rear bumper would be a good option. Only thing I'm truly scared of, since I'm in the States, is the price for the bumper upgrades. I'm sure it's worth whatever it costs. Just don't want to end up turning my WK2 into a Rubicon for more money than what a Rubicon costs!

Very nicely done. Those ports for the high lift jack and the protection for the electronics is pure genius. The only thing I would do differently would be to put that spare on a gate off the rear bumper. Otherwise, great build. Thanks for posting.

Monocoque Body with Built-in Ladder Frame They say that superior off-road handling capability could only come at the expense of on-road smoothness. They have obviously never driven Grand Cherokee . By incorporating a lightweight and highly rigid monocoque body with a built-in ladder frame that provides added resistance to torsion and flexing and fixing them atop a dynamic independent suspension, Grand Cherokee achieves an unprecedented combination of all-terrain control and luxury-sedan comfort. For added durability, grand cherokee now makes more extensive use of galvanized steel body panels, while the new aluminum hood panel reduces weight for better handling.

We have a lot of expeditions in the Russian Federation, very difficult operating conditions from the terrible cold in winter mud and bad roads!! Jeep/ram SUVs are sometimes more reliable and more adaptable than German and Japanese cars! Your SUVs on average have runs from 200 to 500 thousand km!! This is a high reliability indicator!!

It all looked good other than the rear bar with the rear fog-lights still in eyesight. How much extra work would it be to mount the rear fog-lights to the bar? That way the rear bar could be raised ever so slightly. Overall without picking on the obvious "great job". Do you manufacture a front Full size Bullbar for the WK2 with winch fittings?

Great build, but one thing you are missing, is the loss in fuel economy from no build to when you are done, today with fuel costs going through the roof that is one of my most important issues, one woman I read about lost 5 mpg just putting a Top Heavy Tent on her Grand Cherokee how many MPG does all this cost in everyday driving?
@offroadanimal

To be able to play on the big tracks and camp in great comfort you need to sacrifice economy. This is about 3mpg worse on fuel with the V8 with all the gear.

@@bloroxcleach yeah I'm sure they started running into problems because even at 2-2.5 inches the control arms are completely maxed out. Long arm kit, bigger knuckles, longer ball in socket axles from RCV axles, king shocks/struts and springs, custom tie rod ends and long swaybar links with quick disconnects. Maybe some options to beef up those differentials, or at least the front diff.

Does the front bumper improve the approach angle, or does it remain factory? I know you said best in class, but couldn't find the actual angle listed on your site.

It looks pretty, but I'm sure the price tag doesn't.

for everything in this vid, minus the warn winch, its going to run you about $6,270 U.S. the winch (Warn Tarbor 10-s they used is typically about 1,250 U.S. so your looking at $7,500 before taxes, thats a big ouch in the back pocket.

@@The__Canuck. OUCH! I mean it's a great investment and all if you plan on actually leaving the pavement, and a winch is a must. I just think for a purely off road aspect, you're better off putting that kind of time and money into a JK or even a JKU, and not a WK2. Better yet, get a old school XJ, ZJ or even WJ and make it a beast. But I get it, those aren't as comfortable to drive and they don't have a bunch of fancy extras. In all seriousness, people like what they like and they should be able to buy what makes them happy. It's nice to be able to customize your rig the way you want. The WK2 isn't a sought after rig for off roading, but neither is my 05 WK, but I still go out to the ORV parks with mine. OlllllllO

Looks great! Was that some minor trimming I could see happening to fit the 275/65/18s ? If so was this just some trimming of the felt liner or was there pinch weld cutting / mods involved?
@offroadanimal
@offroadanimal 2 жыл бұрын
yes trimming was required to fit those tyres. Just the felt no pinch weld mod required

@@offroadanimal Thanks! Only issue I see with the flares will be the front parking sensors on my MY19 that is positioned right on the edge of the fenders, I either need to go for an offset of like > +12 that negates need for flares or somehow moving the 2 sensors.

If this vehicle thinks its in OR1, at "normal ride hight", what happens when you go into OR2, does it try to over extend??

Going for that DIY look in a few places. Light bar needs adjusting. Great looking products though. Do you have a NZ distributor?
