Seriously the nicest looking kit for a WK2 Ive seen, its both functional and also does not hinder the original look of the car like other Australian companies bars do (Others look like they have modded a toyota or nissan bar to the jeep)

Very nicely done. Those ports for the high lift jack and the protection for the electronics is pure genius. The only thing I would do differently would be to put that spare on a gate off the rear bumper. Otherwise, great build. Thanks for posting.

Absolutely Fantastic!! Solves many of the problems that have kept me from considering previously available WK2 upgrades. Roof rack will probably be my first choice to install. The increased weight it can carry is what is so seriously needed. I agree with a previous post that a gate for spare tire on the rear bumper would be a good option. Only thing I'm truly scared of, since I'm in the States, is the price for the bumper upgrades. I'm sure it's worth whatever it costs. Just don't want to end up turning my WK2 into a Rubicon for more money than what a Rubicon costs!

It all looked good other than the rear bar with the rear fog-lights still in eyesight. How much extra work would it be to mount the rear fog-lights to the bar? That way the rear bar could be raised ever so slightly. Overall without picking on the obvious "great job". Do you manufacture a front Full size Bullbar for the WK2 with winch fittings?

Monocoque Body with Built-in Ladder Frame They say that superior off-road handling capability could only come at the expense of on-road smoothness. They have obviously never driven Grand Cherokee . By incorporating a lightweight and highly rigid monocoque body with a built-in ladder frame that provides added resistance to torsion and flexing and fixing them atop a dynamic independent suspension, Grand Cherokee achieves an unprecedented combination of all-terrain control and luxury-sedan comfort. For added durability, grand cherokee now makes more extensive use of galvanized steel body panels, while the new aluminum hood panel reduces weight for better handling.

Great build, but one thing you are missing, is the loss in fuel economy from no build to when you are done, today with fuel costs going through the roof that is one of my most important issues, one woman I read about lost 5 mpg just putting a Top Heavy Tent on her Grand Cherokee how many MPG does all this cost in everyday driving?
@offroadanimal

To be able to play on the big tracks and camp in great comfort you need to sacrifice economy. This is about 3mpg worse on fuel with the V8 with all the gear.

Someone needs to build a bigger lift for these wk2s. 3-4 inches would be ideal.

@@bloroxcleach yeah I'm sure they started running into problems because even at 2-2.5 inches the control arms are completely maxed out. Long arm kit, bigger knuckles, longer ball in socket axles from RCV axles, king shocks/struts and springs, custom tie rod ends and long swaybar links with quick disconnects. Maybe some options to beef up those differentials, or at least the front diff.

@@bloroxcleach I've been thinking about this for 2 years lol and not one fabrication shop has done a thing. It's time someone makes these truly capable off road machines. Companies make more shit for the Cherokee and Liberty than the WK2 even though our GCs are more capable

@@offroadanimal I'd prefer galvanized steel for it's strength. Not sure what alloy you're using, i guess if it was 6061 I'd be ok with it at 5 mm

@@offroadanimal yeah you didn't mention the alloy in the vid, unless i missed it. I know all about 6061, aerospace engineer, we use t6 tho. I still prefer cold-rolled steel.

@@TTURocketDoc Steel is stronger but in some situations the added weight of the steel is not required, like an airplane. Use lighter material if possible. Thousands rolling around with AL bash plates with no problems
