Nice to hear your impression of this bike mate. I come from a 790 Adventure R and I love the World Raid more than my old bike. you put into words a couple of the same thing I feel, but I use my bike more for adventures than off-road, but still... it is gives great confidence in the loose gravel and even sand. Keep up the great work, cheers from Norway 🇳🇴

I've had a T7 since it came out in 2019 and despite the terrible ratio suspension/height (short travel compared to how high the seat is) the engine is a masterpiece for offroad. Still haven't tried any bike of any displacement that can lug in high gears without problem. That gives a huge advantage in low traction situations and makes the bike way easy to ride. I wish they would release a mini T4 or T5 in a Crf 300 Rally style of chasis.

I really love my T7! The WR is certainly, not a revolution but an evoltuion for people who want a more suitable bike for long trips. Off--road it seems it has some improvements on the riding comfort but overall, i think that Yamaha didn't want to antagonize too much both models, once they will be both on the market.

There is an abs off button in the place where the power supply of the standard model that allows you to recover quickly the abs off mode when you stop the bike. One question for you: the norden has the same kickstand switch system than the 701 that when it brokes it can't be bypassed and you have to call for the assistance to take your bike home?

@aib6662 жыл бұрын
@@porkulator3 I guess it's mandatory in EU for the kickstand to have a switch so you can't ride with the kickstand down for security reasons. Not sure but both my bikes have the same security switch (and they're different brands)

Would have bought it, but it's too tall for me! :) Probably the best big bike engine for off road riding. And can you really compare the T7 to the nordern? The norden is a pretty paper bike, make to look good, but it falls apart right away. So many reviewers have had endless problems with the norden...

Hey, I never heard about most of those bikes! I will investigate them and see what I can do :P Thank you man!
@PeterR00352 жыл бұрын
My idea is that out of purely business perspective, Yamaha brought out the original T700 with some 'defaults' or not entirely 'complete'. _missing steering damper, springs just a tad too soft, pegs a bit narrow, amount of fuel could be better, dumb exhaust placement... Surely they most have noticed these very obvious engineering deficiencies at the development? So a bit later, out comes the World Raid with most of these magically corrected. And oh, several 1000$ more! 😧 My opinion is that people are wrong when justifying the extra cost of the World Raid by comparing with cost of the spare parts to bring a standard T700 up to this spec. It would have cost Yamaha almost nothing extra to have the World Raid brought out in the first place _for the price of the first edition T700. (1 steering damper and 1 extra fuel cap, nothing else) So what's next, a version 2 World Raid with an improved exhaust?? ...also a few 1000$ more?? Grrr...! 😤👿 Anyway, thanks for your nice video!

Ahah, i dont agree 100% with you, but i agree like 97% :p I have a master's degree in marketing, and indeed there is always some sort of f**kery going on, just like you describe. But usually is not about creating flawed products, its more about creating the most simple thing (for the lowest cost) the customers are willing to buy today, and worry about the next step later. Example: if "studies" tells them people are willing to pay 9-10k for a 450cc enduro bike with X, Y and Z specs, they wont create one with "W" even if they could (unless they want to sell it for 11k). The part where i dont agree with you (the 3%) is that the T7 was/is actually a brilliant bike (but like ANYTHING in this world, there is always room for improvements). Its one of the best off road adventure bikes ever made for a killer price, and such a concept was veeery needed. Thats why they sold like hotcakes. In other words: They created a very good bike for the price of an "Ok" bike... Witch is already very unusual nowadays. So i think It would be a pipe's dream to demand a "super-duper ready to race all full specs bike" for the price of an "Ok bike". Know what i mean? 😁 As for the exhaust thing, its not that big of deal, especially if you eventually fit the bike with luggage racks or whatever. There are 47287582 T7s out there, and only a few got any serious (i mean serious) problem out of that exhaust placement so "meh", its not the end of world. Neverheless, i find it a bit stupid that Yamaha didnt fix this for the new WR... Again, i think they simply know that 95% of the people really dont care/know and couldnt be bothered to solve it 😒 We live in a world ruled by "the principle of minimum effort" 😤😤
@PeterR00352 жыл бұрын
@@OFFroadOFFcourse Thanks for your reply and explanation! "the principle of minimum effort" _ I see what you mean and... that's very sad too. And/but ; we also wonder why China has become such a superpower. Yet we keep buying things as cheap as possible (in China) and not from our local market... Which makes it partially, our fault...
