This is exactly what I was looking for! I thought "seeing as we now have access to the mask points, I could link each point to a null, parent those nulls to something, offset it.....ugh! There must be a simpler way!" THANK YOU very much - I shall be using that expression a LOT in future retouching jobs!

Let's gooooo thank you a lot dude !! After a lot of researches I figured out the only way I could do what I wanted to, and it required me to track a mask using expressions, and yours worked perfectly !! Thanks a lot !

Cool! Just wanted to add that the latest versions of AE have this embedded in a setting of the tracker in a user friendly way. It's called Attach Point Offset. You need to reapply the tracking if you make any changes to that value.

Mikey, i'm working on VFX shots for a client to clean up dust from black business cards where camera is moving from right to left, I want to use clone tool to get rid of the dust, how would i use this technique to do this. For example let's say you wanted to paint out the foot prints of your friend on the left, how do u paint them out on one frame and have that "paint out" move with the mask data?

Couldn't you just use the transform effect to move around the mask? I see what this is usefull for tho. Thank you!
