You commented about drummers having a hard time singing without sounding like they are out of breath, well Pau literally sings while working out, and running. She practices breath control during strenuous physical activity which is why she seems to effortlessly sing while playing drums. There is a phenomenal drum fill after the second verse of Disciple (from this same concert) in which she is singing while doing the fill. Pau herself has said of that fill, that it was one of the hardest things she has ever had to learn, and that it took her hundreds of time to get it right, but it now comes naturally. You really should do Disciple next to see this, it will blow your minds! LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTER aka THE WARNING,

I've pointed it out many times, but since you guys mentioned how impressed you were with the drummer having the lung capacity to sing while drumming in such an energetic way, I'll say it again - they are in Mexico City (CDMX) where the elevation is 7350 ft. Try just singing or just drumming and see how much air you have, gasp, gasp. And they are not from there, so they are not used to the elevation. To see that drummer sing some lead, try "Disciple" from that same show.

The Warning. There is too much talent, virtuosity, beauty, charisma, power, creativity, the desire to be, kindness, support, inspiration, synergy, etc. All of it in a small 3 piece pack (apparently only 3, because behind it there is a great family support ) which is very small... But with nuclear content!! And if this were a commodity, and it could be done, I would buy all the possible stock shares of the brand on the stock market. I would do the best business, with the greatest projection and that will give me the best dividends. It's a super safe bet!! TW have a huge list of songs of the best musical and artistic level, complete and rounded, both in their lyrics and in their instrumentation. In addition, they are 3 young women who are each one of the best as human beings and have the impetus to "devour" the world. You put this combination of pure talent and energy on stage and you get: The Warning An unmissable bet!! Pau (drummer) alternates being the lead vocals with Dany the guitarist and you can see this in your next reaction to TW should be "Disciple Alive Teatro Metropólitan CDMX": kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaCToJeiobukbsk It's an original song like 40 others and more that they have created. And all with "TW" quality, which means: lirycs, instrumentation and performance with the highest quality exposure, because… beyond the musicality emitted by the instruments, masterfully executed... Or the stupendous voices, each day more mature and better... Of the deep lyrics, inspired by his innate genius... And the paraphernalia of the "show", which achieves its goal... It's inescapable that this moves you from the depths of your emotions when you observe what the girls are doing in their performance. It's more than a pleasure to see how Pau (and her sisters) really enjoys what she does, which seems to be a game that amuses her so much that she gives herself up, contributing all her emotions and, at the same time, allows herself to be the receptacle of everything that can transmit what's happening to her, happening around you, transforming everything into a virtuous circle of unsurpassed quality. Well, surely only surmountable by themselves. And they've so much mastered what they're doing that they only have to give themselves completely, passionately (as Latinoamericans know how to do), to what they like to do best and most, in a way in which they've fun and fully enjoy it. For this and many more things TW will conquer the world of rock!! INEVITABLE Thanks for reacting to TW.. Greetings from Mexico. ⚡🎸🥁🎸⚡

Every song from The Warning needs to be listened to with reference to its lyrics & inherent message. And if possible, the story behind it. Pau, the drummer, writes most of their songs, composes them on her piano and then calls her sisters. Her metaphorical poetry makes The Warning stand out from the rest. Apparently she wrote this "angry" song full of pain when a childhood friend left her recently. I've already collapsed So I'll just drown my sorrows in a nonexistent world I don't know what is worse The utter waste of time or the eroding of my mind Alive means to be dead A bullet to the head The guilt faded away The anger has subsided, yet its shadow still remains I always gave too much It was never enough Get dressed in black and mourn again Fake funerals for all my friends 'Cause I can't let it go No, I won't let it go It's killing me again I replay it in my head when I'm alone I hope that you're alone now It's not me, it's you The one who never got a clue Drown in your guilt If karma doesn't hit you, then I will You ask me how I've been I paint a smile over my face and act like nothing's wrong Your pity party's fake And now I am reminded why I should've kept away I hope to God you know This smile is just for show Get dressed in black and mourn again Fake funerals for all my friends 'Cause I can't let it go No, I won't let it go It's killing me again I replay it in my head when I'm alone I hope that you're alone now It's not me, it's you The one who never got a clue Drown in your guilt If karma doesn't hit you, then I will Mayday, mayday, this ship is going down Lost inside my thoughts again Living hollow to pretend Mayday, mayday, this ship is going down Bury the truth of the lie you created Bury yourself and remember me when you're alone Mayday, mayday, this ship is going down It's killing me again I replay it in my head when I'm alone I hope that you're alone now It's not me, it's you The one who never got a clue Drown in your guilt If karma doesn't hit you, then I will

@@genboyer That's why I keep on saying - her poetry alone is worth so many laurels. How can a 13 year old write such stuff is beyond my comprehension. And now she is crying in the parting shot of Martirio live which The Warning dropped about an hour back.

The girls have proved numerous times that they have the charisma and talent to play stadiums and large arenas, having opened for Def Leppard (twice in 2017), The Killers (twice in 2018), Guns 'n' Roses (2022), Foo Fighters (2022), and Muse (2023 - 4 times in Mexico in January and 5 more time in Europe this summer). This 2022 gig in CDMX is their largest crowd as a solo act (3500 capacity which sold out ASAP so they added a second gig) but in October they're playing solo in the 8,000 capacity Pepsi Center in CDMX. Their big problem is lack of airplay in the US, which may be industry blowback because they refused to sign with Disney or Cowell when they started out, and later big US labels, all because they wanted full control over their image and music. They finally signed a 5 record deal with Lava Records in 2020 after a 7 month courtship that was delayed because of self-destiny issues.

Great reaction guys, going to check out your stuff right now. Paulina (Pau) the drummer is one of a kind. She routinely sings while drumming ferociously, sometimes singing lead. You will keep on seeing comments like "Best band in 50 years", and "they are the real deal". Many among their fanbase are on the older side of what you would expect. The Warning has piqued the interest of older fans who have seen the GOATs [pick your fave] in person, and had long since given up on any modern music. Possibly the band will connect some historical dots during their UK tour this summer, and will play a date at The Cavern Club, if you take my drift.

What would have happened if a trio of teenage sisters aged 17, 15 & 13 wrote & produced a concept album called "Queen of the Murder Scene" in the '60s, '70s? How many bands nowadays can write such profound metaphorical poetry like Pau does? Its a shame that they don't get any recognition in today's era of pop & plastic music
@stephanschoneberg3453 Жыл бұрын
What? To be honest - I think it is exactly the amount of recognition that's needed for them. They may have been blew up at the age of 19, 17, 15. They did their first (!) great tour in 2022 cause they didn't wanted to end like a teenage sensation that's 90% perfect (although this also would have been great). There's still so so much room for improvement for them but they are in a shape (especially mentally) that can conquer the world ... now. If you ask me I would like to have more than just a small blink of them. They have come a long trained way. And they have come to stay. Just let them "evolve". So far (it seems) everything is running just in the right direction for them - no need to hurry up!
@stephanschoneberg3453 Жыл бұрын
Another answer: Remember Tracy Chapman? She did (wrote her own album) at the age of (was it?) 17 ... She had a great voice, enourmous success ... you never heard anything afterwards from her. Of course there are other examples (like Kate Bush or Mylene Farmer) but mostly they are to young. You'll get the better personality the older you are - it's not a secret. You can show more from yourself when you're wiser.

the Drummer Pau is a tremendous singer. As others have noted she takes lead on many tracks, and even more so, live when Dany has been sick, etc. A huge weapon in their bag of tricks is how different they all sing from each other, while still being able to harmonize so well. Dany is more in your Lzzy Hale, Joan Jett, rock n roll belter, while Pau, is possibly less naturally gifted vocally from a classical perspective (a bit scratchy, not a knock, just an observation) but compensates amazingly with fantastic form and is the more emotive singer. If you want showcases of Pau, IIRC, 23, Revenant and Breathe, all from the latest albums are Pau in the lead, and a couple will bring you to tears from the raw pain in her voice.

*Fun Facts:* *#1)* Alejandra (Ale = Aleeh / Bassist) usually plays the bass with her fingers. No pick. But *Animosity* was the first Warning song that was especially written for Ale to play with a pick. The other new song *Error.* Ale goes between using her fingers, then a pick, several times in the song. *#2)* Sometimes you will see Paulina (Pau = Pow / Drummer) singing. But she's not. She's just mouthing the lyrics while she's playing. After awhile, you will start to notice which voice is Pau's (loud & on key) & which one is Daniela (Dany / Guitarist). *#3)* The following list are original songs where Pau is the lead singer & plays the drums. *Escape the Mind* EP *Fade Away* *Queen of the Murder Scene* LP *Dust to Dust* *The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade)* *Narcisista* (Single / Warnings first all Spanish song) *Error* LP *23* There's several songs she sings lead playing the keyboards. One song *(Revenant)* Pau doesn't play any instrument but sings lead. Then a handful where she sings duet with Dany. *#4)* Pau is the main writer of their songs. They all pitch in. But Pau is the one that starts the song with a melody. A riff or some lyrics.

I think that The Warning fit into quite a number of musical buckets since they draw they influences from many sources. Metal. Rock. K-Pop. Punk. Classical. They are young, but really have developed a sound unique to them. They are binge-worthy for sure. Many folks will say that their favorite The Warning song is the last one they heard. The Warning sound exceptional live-I might even say that they often sound better live than on the recordings. They are slowly releasing concert videos from a show they did August 2022 at Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City. There are now five available. They are phenomenal performances. I saw them twice last year. Once headlining ina small club in Reading PA. Then with Halestorm in Arkansas only a couple weeks before this video was shot. I have a feeling you guys might be sliding quickly down The Warning rabbit hole. Consider the song "Discilpe" from the same concert. The link is below. Daniela, guitar, and Paulina, drums, switch off singing lead. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaCToJeiobukbsk

You need to see their progression you can do this with a Metallica cover they do Enter Sandman. Warning KZbin cover 2014 when they are aged 14, 12 and 9 Ale’s bass is bigger than her. Then 2021 official video the Warning with Alessia Cara from the Blacklist Album and from the same location as this video again 2022 live on stage (just them)

Pau (the drummer) sings lead on some songs ;) I've seen them live 10 times since January 2019 and I'm far from the worst offender, even when counting only people from outside of the Americas (Fans in their hometown of Monterrey and some people in California etc.) :) I know I'd have gone to more gigs if I were closer, and trust me, as good as it gets live on video, in person is just crazy, that energy and the connection with the crowd is really fun! Looking forward to another 5 gigs this summer as they're finally coming to Europe! My only regret is not being able to go to that festival I was thinking about going to in Mexico in 2018, and maybe not being there for the premiere of Narcisista, that one was insanely good too

Pau, the Drummer sings lead on a number of songs. She switches off lead with Dany in the song disciple which would be a good one from this concert to check out. She practices singing while running to build up core strength and endurance.

Hey Guys! New Sub here. If you want to to see the Guitarist (Daniela) and the Drummer (Paulina) trade off lead vocals on another kick ass song, try "Disciple" from the same show! It's a full-on BANGER! If you guys are in Cape Coral, FL, the closest they are playing as they have announced so far this year is Daytona at the Welcome to Rockville Festival and Atlanta, both in Mid May. They have not announced any dates yet after June, so their may be another set of American dates this summer (We Hope!)

I a guessing there will be more US dates after they get back from their Europe tour. Probably mid July through September.

OK, I think you guys are for sure hooked! As others have mentioned, Pau does sing lead on a number of songs, including Narcisista ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWiscnieg5mFg68 ) -- this video is from a concert in their hometown where they played it live for the first time, and it is their first song in Spanish. The song is clapback at their critics who complained that The Warning sang only in English while being Mexican. You don't need to know spanish to understand how they feel about it.....

Wow, one of the few times that the 37,500 foot altitude actually helped make a singers voice sound good!
