I stopped in and talked to the guys managing the project, there are expansive rock piles at the base of these. I told him I was excited for the fishing opportunity they would create and he told me that they become more of an artificial reef than I would ever imagine. Definitely excited to see this wind farm going up.

Not French at all ! The "Vidar" was part of the offshore activities of the German Hochtief that has been ceded to the Belgian Deme. It was then sold to "jan de nul" and renamed "vole au vent" and is now sailing under the Luxemburg flag.

Thank you for the clarification. I was told that the components to the windmills are made from France and then shipped here to the US for construction. I was also told that the company that owns the Vole au Vent" was French and somehow tied to the French components through contract.
