That's the way! I love watching the operation of the boat. We need to know the story of Old Mate's leg in a moon boot tho? Most would have stayed home but not him!

He broke his ankle but decided to stay onboard and help out with cooking etc. It's healing well

Too bad I live in South Carolina USA. I’d LOVE to work on your boat. Born and raised on the ocean and now I’m helplessly addicted to it.

I know what you mean, once it's in your blood it's a lifelong addiction 😆

The Diurnal migration dictates everything and each species feeding preferences on that migration. Then you have local variables to consider. Different species behave differently in different regions

Thanks for the explanation of what you are targeting and looking at on the sounder. How deep are you wanting to set the baits then with leader length and float length off the mainline?
@tkoffshorefishing Жыл бұрын
It depends on what the moon phase is and what species you are targeting.
@adammcgeorge3538 Жыл бұрын
@@tkoffshorefishing your catch was quite a mixed bag, swords, YFT, mahi, striped marlin, big eye…approximately how deep were the baits you think?
@tkoffshorefishing Жыл бұрын
Shallowest hook would be 20 metres and deepest around 80 metres down
@adammcgeorge3538 Жыл бұрын
@@tkoffshorefishing thanks TK and it’s easier to adjust the float line length than all the leaders right!?
@tkoffshorefishing Жыл бұрын
@adammcgeorge3538 we adjust the distance between hooks and the amount of hooks between floats to get the correct average depth and we can also increase the line setter speed so the line is shooting out faster than the vessel is moving forward which creates sag as well. All calibrated through the Linemaster setting system so I can be accurate

When the lines are hooked onto the main line i realise they are spaced out but does the current push them together? And how do the lines grip the main line on a haul back? Cheers
@tkoffshorefishing11 ай бұрын
The snap clips are designed to grip the line so the current does not affect them but they are designed to slide when you get a large fish on so it's common to get 2 or 3 leaders bunched together with a big fish
