I couldn’t agree with you more about the Red Snapper!! Anytime I’ve been offshore it’s the same….. I haven’t been offshore in a few months and I’m hankering to go! Glad y’all got to at least get out there…. Hopefully we will have some calmer winds soon!

Yep, it's pretty frustrating. Seems like the wind won't stop blowing lately.

nice video squatch man!! Hope the snapper rule changes soon. I dont even run off shore any more, just aint worth it to fill the big boat up and run out there.

Thanks! Offshore/nearshore bottom fishing these days has basically become catch and release fishing, kinda like bass fishing, but way more costly.

Is that boat a Rambo? Loved your review of the Dusky 217. You should do one of the new boat!

Yep, it's a Rambo. I'll do a review, I'm just not sure when. I'm glad you enjoyed the Dusky vid, thanks!👍

The way i understand it, down south, the gulf stream is closer so moe boats are able to fish it. Are you catching on yet, THEY have over fished south Fla., so our over populated hatchery migrates south to replenish their hatchery. It sucks for us, but there seems too many folks cleaning it out down south.

I don't believe S Fl has ever had a real population of ARS, because their Gulf Stream is so close. There's just not enough bottom structure, in the depths ARS prefer. It gets deep so fast down there. Either way, I agree w/ you, we are over populated w/ ARS up here. Thanks for the reply 👍

Red snappers are scarce here in the southern Atlantic our biologists say..... bbbuuullllssshhhiiiitttt.

We might start catching those Red Snappers within 3 miles.

I'm sure they're some inside 3 miles, but I don't know where...

I'm a Floridian who's not an active fisherman, but even I get disgusted hearing about the severe restrictions placed on those pesky, ubiquitous Red Snappers. Family fishermen ought to be allowed to harvest one or two of them.

I could not agree more...

It really is ridiculous. Recreation fishermen isn’t the problem. We should be allowed more than 2 days to keep Red Snapper. And you’re lucky if those 2 days aren’t blown or rained out. I actually had to write a paper for my government class and this was my subject. There’s just a helpless feeling of not being able to do anything about it…

Yep, I completely agree

Well what they should do is have a slot size those large large red snappers are all females and they got millions of eggs they should be returned Plus I did some research and on red snapper they're very very high on the list of heavy metal contaminants like mercury poisoning I just prefer to catch and release them and eat them smaller less desirable fish but that's only me even king fish are highly contaminated i usually keep one a year to smoke and that's it but I'm sure the red snapper it's all about the money to be made in the commercial fishery

I feel the same about kingfish, but I'd keep red snapper, no problem, if the Feds would allow. Thanks for the comment! 👍

This is why I stopped fishing in Jacksonville nothing but Red Snapper. Groupers are 40-50 miles out
