During the day there's a bus right at the marina exit. At night, you'll have to climb the hill to the bus stop. If you want to rent a car, I recommend Cicar as there are no hidden charges and service is excellent. Also, definitely check out La Palma, the prettiest of all the islands. Stay in the capital (Santa Cruz) or Tazacorte. In Radazul, the breakfast place at the other end of the marina is pretty nice. Definitely check out the volcano national park and Anaga forest for some good hiking. Skip the touristy south ;) The prettiest marinas on the islands are on Lanzarote (Calero and Rubicon).

Dunno if your boat is till in Tenerife or if this was all months ago, but there's a neat little museum under that plaza with the fountain that shows the foundations of the old fort they bulldozed over and has a famous cannon that shot someone's limb off. It's just an obscure stairway in the open, you'd think it would be a parking ramp or something. Also worth renting a car for a day to go up to the top of the volcano and hike around. Very different landscape.
@patrickcarroll9707Ай бұрын
Awesome Video! Perhaps you could mount the autopilot under that rear seat. I thought of it before as a way to keep it waterproof and add some sound insulation. With the new mounting location, it might interfere with the engine controls. Can it be set up to work on port OR starboard mounting? I'm not sure how much fore and aft movement you get with the arc of the tiller, so the hole might need to be a bit of an oval, and I'm not sure how often the cockpit gets swamped, but who knows, might last longer out of the salt water and you wouldn't have to hear it so much. Keep on making great videos and having awesome adventures!

Sam, tech tip 17.3/1. In respect to your noisy auto pilot. Have you considered cutting a slit in an old small fender? Perhaps putting some sound deadening material on the inside. Not only will it shield it from saltwater, but it will give you peace and quiet. The only concern I can think of, it running hotter if it works hard. By the way, I was at the Annapolis boat show, but couldn’t make out where you are. Otherwise I would’ve said hello.

It's an odd affliction. I sailed 12 years before getting seasick and it was the worse 37hrs of my life!
@susanhawkes2519Ай бұрын
@@LovelyFish-wg1dq I get vertigo. It's like being very drunk - the room spins and causes an inability to balance and nausea. Has to do with crystals in the semicircular ear canal being unable to flow right. I do the Epley Maneuver three times to fix it. Could they be related? Maybe both conditions are related to dehydration. Or maybe perfectly timed wave action is doing an anti-Epley, jamming the ear crystals together rather than loosening them? Both are odd.
