Well done for compensating somewhat for the lack of coverage the 20th anniversary of Omagh recieved overall in the media. Post 9/11 Omagh became somewhat forgotten, but in time it will be recalled as a landmark in modern Irish history. It was a truly shocking and devestating event at the time but one which somehow galvanised commitment towards ensuring the peace process would be a success. Congratulations to Off the Ball for recognising this, it's a pity our politicians did not.

Probably why it was allowed to go ahead.

Thanks for that. Great piece of work Shane. I feel great admiration for those men for sharing their experience. I’m very glad my son will have no understanding of what it’s like to grow up in a country where we were desensitized to atrocities such as Omagh.

This is crazy my mam lived in dromore at the time and she was going to go to that bus stop where the bomb hit but instead snuck of with her friend in his car so she would have been in the explosion which is crazy to think about and one of my uncle's was in it and my other uncle told me that he was in his office building the day of the bomb and the police came and told him to go where it was supposed to be a safe place from the bomb apparently he just turned around and didn't go cause he had a gut feeling he shouldn't go so he would have been in the bomb too which is crazy to think about

Someone in the bomb team or maybe few of them were obviously very valuable informers and that's why the investigation was destroyed from inside mi5 police branch etc

@Doxx Box Returns I’ll bet no Protestants were involved in setting the bomb though so there is a correlation between ira and Catholicism.
